Hi guys, I'm stunned to see so much interest already....it's great to see, it was a real pleasure to have you guys at the event last year and we've taken on board some of the feedback to make it better this year, so hopefully we can give you a bit more space to display your cars rather than having you in rows as before.
if you do join up with the Surrey guys let me know so i can allocate an area that is large enough.\ once again we'll give you space for a marquee as well. any other feedback please feel free and we'll try and put it into practice. the event is bigger and better than last year already and i'll be back in a few days to let you know what is actually happening along with another secret link to buy the discounted display passes so you can get in for £7 for as many people as you have in the car in stead of £7 per person speak soon and thanks once again for the amazing support. Regards Bachi |

Hi Bachi,
Thanks for posting up again - everyone seemed to have a good day last year, hence the list is already started for 2011. If clubs have an area marked out, it leaves some freedom for us to arrange the cars. I think it would look more appealing to the public - the majority of people just walked past last year thinking it was more reserved parking (like the large Pistonheads area). Good to hear that our suggestions are being listened to though |

This is the official invite....although you've beaten me too it, it does give more details of the event...
The same basic framework applies, we're looking for a large static display area and once again are happy to accommodate as many of you as want to come. Being part of the car club display means you get the best parking spaces (on the runway next to the main attractions) you do have to get there before the public but that does mean you can be first in the queue for most of the events and get extra space for a club stand/marquee if you want one. You will also get the benefit of discounted entry (£7 per car and all occupants as opposed to £7per person - so essentially half price if there are two of you) anyway firstly a quick precis of the event for those who have not been yet, i'll happily answer any questions you may have...... Dunsfold Supercar Family Funday aka Dads Day Out Saturday May 14th 2011 http://www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/dadsdayout http://www.petrolheadnirvana.com/torque Arguably the best event in the UK’s petrolhead calendar returns for it’s 3rd year and for 2011 the event will be bigger and better than ever before. The Supercar Family Funday (held at Dunsfold Park the home of BBC’s Top Gear) is an interactive action-packed family event in aid of The Children’s Trust Charity in Tadworth. This event has been co-organised by Petrolhead Nirvana in association with Club Scuderia the Ferrari enthusiasts’ site and this year is being sponsored by Shell V-Power. Over 6 months hard (unpaid) work has gone into making this a fantastic day out. The main attraction of the day will be the 100 or so supercars giving passenger rides around the airfield in exchange for a donation to the charity. The cars will range from a mix of Ferrari’s and Lamborghini’s, Ariel Atom’s, KTM X-bow’s, Aston Martin’s, Dodge Viper’s and others as well as a number of niche and even more exotic cars (which will be confirmed nearer the date but are likely to include F40’s, McLaren MP4’s, SLR’s and maybe even the odd Enzo, Zonda and Spyker). In addition to the main attraction there are also other interactive areas; The Caterham Club will be demonstrating their form of car control in the shape of donuts and drifting, and will be taking passengers who are brave enough to get involved. There’ll be a chance for kids from 14 upwards to take their first driving lesson in a dual control car next to a trained instructor (of course it’s open to anyone above the age of 14 too!). As if all that wasn’t enough, we’ve also got Spectacular and electrifying stunts from East Coast FMX display team M.A.D. -the UK's number 1 mountain bike stunt & display team. Plus Dunsfold Fire Brigade will demonstrate their life-saving techniques and equipment by responding to a staged Road Traffic Collision. Kids Zone marquee with Roary the Racing Car & Big Chris, who will appear for meet & greet and photos, a Roary merchandise stall plus a Crafts Zone where children can decorate their own race car to take home, face painting, balloon modeling and a Slot Car competition provided by Slot 32 Helicopter rides from Elite Helicopters- £35 per adult & £30 per child- these can be booked at the event Routemaster bus rides to transport you in style from the car park to the event arena Live music in the Bands Tent a variety of bands throughout the day Fire Engine rides for children Land Train and Fairground rides including a giant bouncy castle and soft play area plus Cub Carts for 3-9 year olds Simulator with following experiences: Red Arrows, Ski, Car Rally, Astro Canyon, Glacier Run, Pepsi Max Roller coaster & many more. Models Zone with model aeroplanes and helicopters from Addlestone Models and model car stalls. Automobile-themed catering bars from DW Mobile Catering Bars Static display of over 500 classic & sports cars including a Jordan F1 Racing Car plus a number of aircraft including Sea Harrier, Sea Hawk & Air Support Unit. More attractions are being confirmed weekly, so keep checking back to find out what else is going on. There is a large parking area and advance entry costs are £7 per adult and £3 per child. However car clubs who display their cars will only be charged £7 per car with a driver and up to 4 passengers. Every penny raised from this event goes direct to The Children’s Trust. Gates open to the public from 8.30am and the event starts at 9.00am. The first rides on the circuit will start at 9.00am and will run until 4.30pm (but no later due to noise restrictions at the airfield), so make sure you arrive early. To book the car club entrance tickets you’ll need to follow this link: http://www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/carclubdisplay Please ensure you arrive (if you’re part of the car club) before 8.30am to give us enough time to direct you to the display area and enough time for you to set up your stand/marquee if you have one. We would prefer you to stay for the duration of the show if possible and as there is so much going on during the day it should be a fun time all day. In order to book rides in advance you’ll need to follow this link (don’t buy another entry ticket as the ‘display pass’ lets you in): http://www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/...ay+Out+tickets Please make sure you book your rides in advance as there’s a limited number and they are likely to be sold out way before the event as it will be advertised in the national and local press, so book early to take advantage of it. You can also use the same link to book Caterham and Helicopter rides, although the young driver training is not yet available to book online. We’re expecting more than the 5,000 visitors we had in 2010 and of course the more people who attend the more we will raise for The Children’s Trust so please pass details of this event on to others. (Members of the public will have to purchase general entry tickets at £7 per person and £3 for a child instead of the £7 car club display ticket) We also have posters and flyers available so if you feel you can help to distribute these then please contact us and we will send you as many as you require. a couple of videos to whet your appetite supercar parade lap http://www.youtube.com/user/petrolhe.../2/Ew2yeAlinc0 general highlights of the day http://www.youtube.com/user/petrolhe.../1/hu2UZY3qCxc Many thanks to Fiona for all her hard work filming and editing these videos and to Nick Williams (NWVT.co.uk) for the use of his photos I'm glad you're happy to join us again - look forward to seeing you on the day. |

Just about to book this, but I have some friends who want to come too and will be in there own car, so will only park with the rest of the peasants in the main car park!. Can I order them a ticket for £7 or do they have to pay regular prices (£7 per person) as they are not on display???.
Cheers Steve

The car club tickets are likely to go offline a few days before the event so you still have a bit of time. One thing i should mention is that the ride tickets are starting to sell rather quickly and we've not launched it on PH or our other media channels as yet. so if you want to book i'd suggest doing so sooner rather than later. oh and as you've hit 15 cars already, I'm happy for you guys to add more numbers to your group, i can allocate you extra space at this early stage |

Looking good guys,
I'm going to need final numbers by next Tuesday so i have enough time to sort out who is parking where. Can you also make sure you have bought your ticket in advance as that is the only way you will be able to access the display area and enter the event before the gates open to the public just to make it easy for you the link to buy the display tickets is here..... http://www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/carclubdisplay Once again i need numbers by next Tuesday so if you can collate the numbers by then and have a list ready for me that would make my life a lot easier!! Thanks again for all your support for this event, the guys at the charity have been bowled over by the response from everyone and asked me to pass along their thanks to you all Regards Bachi |
