hi there. its been a while since ive been on any of these forums but thought i'd get back on seeing as my cars nearing completion.
i've got a my93 wrx that over the course of the last year have been turning into a bit of a track toy.
i bought the silver standard wrx last april for £700 off ebay needing a clutch and a windscreen.
within 48 hours of picking it up from luton the stripdown began.
theres still a bit to do on it but so far i've completely stripped it back to a panel-less shell and welded in a safety devices rollcage, flatted the boot spare wheel well, resprayed inside and out in solid grey with black roof, fitted facelift front end, coilovers, welded up rear door handles, wide arch kit, 9.75"x17" xxr527's with 255/40/17 maxxis maz1 tyres, d1 spec wheelnuts, evo reverse bonnet scoop, 22b bonnet vents, downforce front splitter, side vents in front bumper, morette headlights, v6 carbon rear spoiler.
i've made a custom rear bulkhead panel, custom rear parcel shelf panel, custom dashboard and custom rear diffuser from fibrelam board which is an extremely light weight board used to make aircraft galleys. for example my dashboard (which might not be to everyone's liking) weighs 1.2 kilos with the alcantara on it!! the massive rear diffuser weighs 5.3 kilos.
under the bonnet ive removed all traces of air con, fitted alternator flip kit, power steering reservoir relocation kit, made a front entry inlet manifold, am in the process of making a group N spec baffled sump, new rocker cover gaskets, lightweight fidanza flywheel, new exedy clutch, toyosport tubular manifold, 3" decat downpipe, am having made a 2 box centre pipe with side exit exhaust just in front of o/s/r wheel, apexi avcr boost controller, custom rally heater blower for windscreen, revotec gauges, walbro 255lph fuel pump, 440cc injectors, fmic, 330mm godspeed 2 piece discs with special AP calipers on custom brackets.
hopefully it should be close to being on the road in the next 6-8 weeks but i'll upload some pics from various stages of the build.

Sounds a great project, we appear to be building quite a collection of proper track toys!
