Jack and axle stand points
Evening all,
I'm attempting to put a new inner arch liner on my car and need to jack it up to get the side skirt off as well as the front bumper back on. Where is the best place to jack the car up and then rest it on axle stands please?

'Factory' jack points are under the side skirts on the sills, one in front of rear tyre, one behind front tyre. You will see cut outs in the side skirts. These are designed for factory jacks but are often suitable for a normal jack or two post ramp with cut out 'pucks' and rubber blocks.
The rear diff is a suitable point to jack up the rear of the car just don't place the jack on the face plate of the diff, only the main body of it. You can then place axle stands on the sill points if you want. If you can get access there is a jack point under the front end, a metal block on a cross section under the front sub frame and steering rack. You can also put the jack and/or axle stands on the chassis rail behind the last bolt holding the big 'C' frame cradle to the bottom of the car. It's always best to spread the load with a nice flat surface on the jack. (Behind the new bolt and yellow block on the far left) |
