Clutch change
May be approaching the end of the life of the original 18 year old clutch, if doing it on the drive is it quicker and easier to whip the engine out rather than trying to drop the box and do it from underneath, is it also worth getting a second hand flywheel skimmed and ready to go in along with new crankshaft oil seal, I'm aware that getting the flywheel bolts torqued up on an engine that's sat on the floor isn't going to be easy?

Would it not be really difficult trying to manoeuvre the engine back in to place at the same time as trying to slot the gearbox main shaft in to the clutch assembly straight...
I'd also imagine the effort to remove all the plumbing from the engine compared to a couple of drive shafts, gear stick, prop shaft and sensors for the gearbox would be a pain. I'd get the car as high as you can on axle stands and whip the gearbox off personally. |

It's about the same but I normally remove the engine as I find it easier not having to do so much crawling under the car.

I find it easier pulling the engine if your on the flat.
If you have a lift, drop the box. 😊 Sent from my SM-J320FN using Tapatalk

Cheers guys. I'd read mixed stories of which was easiest, may well pay someone but if you have the time and a brother who's handy with a spanner we may have a bash ourselves.
