Xbox & Xbox360 Question
Can I port Xbox games held on hard disk over onto a Xbox360 and if so will they play.
I have an old Xbox with a few good games on the hard disk that I wouldn't mind keeping. If not does the Xbox have a regular 3.5" Hard Disk that I can rip out and use as a storage device for media etc...... Probably worth more to me to store media then I would get flogigng it. If you want to use the 360 to its full potential, sadly no. Although lots of the more main stream xbox titles are now on xbox live anyway.
Microsoft recently banned 600,000 machines that had been fidled with, their next step is to ban IP's. So keeping legit is the best way really, and better for your whole 360 experiance anyway ( you can tell I sell them... ) Most games already out, and even more so in the future have more online content than offline. You ony have to look at MW2, 40% is single player, and can be done in 4 hours, the other 60% is all online, and has masive replayability value. So chiping or modding your machine cuts you off from that. |

Thanks for that.
Decided to rip the HD out of it. It's a standard 3.5" IDE, with what Ithought was 32GB capacity, nearly binned it then spotted it was actually 160GB capacity . So twice the capacity of my 80GB Desktop PC I have just stripped. Just ordered 2-Off USB to IDE External HD Enclosures, for £20, so will use both these to store/backup some media. |

Well managed to get the 160GB HD out of the Xbox and into a caddy.
Had a few issues along the way, like the Xbox HD was locked to the Xbox so the PC would not recognise it as a drive. Luckily the bin men don't come till today so recovered the Xbox from the bin and plugged it back in. There happened to be a utility on the disk that allowed you to unlock the drive password (after navigating through many warnings screens), so done that and put back in PC External HD Caddy. Still not recognised, but after a bit of a search/google and reading alot of contradicting threads, found one guy that said to right click 'My Computer' and select 'Manage'. This then showed an additional drive as 'un-initialized'. Set this to 'initialize' and then was able to partion/format. Took a while as 160GB, but got there in the end and have now copied my entire music MP3 collection onto it and still have 110GB to spare....... so there's a Top tip for anyone with an old original Xbox...to make use of the HD. |

Was your Xbox chipped then? Standard size HD from factory was only 4Gig.
Oh, and a bit off topic, whats the dimensions of your number plate? And it was from fancy plates right?

But it did seem to have a 3rd Party GUI hence the ability to read and unlock the HD Password. I think N.Plate came from Fancy plates. It was a pre-defined size IIRC called 2/3rd's size. |

Just checked and yes it was fancy plates and I assume their 3/4 option under the Fancy Plates Constructor.
The rear was over-sized in order to fit the apperature i.e longer and taller. Not sure of size, but may be different on yours anyway being a newage. |
