Part one was predictable but amusing. I daresay most watched it in anticipation of tonight's episode though, I just want to see how badly wrong the Argentina trip goes...

...or rather how badly wrong the trip has been edited to look like it went.

A little bit boring with too much of them driving around in fields, crap roads and beaches.
The Reg No. seems legitimate though as all checks have it coming up on a 1991 Porsche and tax'd until May 2015.
I wonder if the BBC will be claiming the Tax back now that it's abandoned in Argentina.

It's quite frightening how moronic people can be.

It is getting way to far fetched.

Yeah. I think it could have been cut to a single 90 minutes episode without too much loss. If it hadn't been for the drama at the end it would have been a pretty dull (though very pretty looking) road trip.

Agreed.

I was a little sceptical as to how much hostility the crew really encountered, but that footage certainly looked genuine. Damn shame they had to abandon the cars, especially the Lotus, I thought that was the hero of the show!

Bloody shame for the Argentines really as, up until to that point in the program, I thought the country and its inhabitants had come across well. Only takes a handful of idiots to ruin it for everyone.

Defo wont go down as an epic episode ,, guessing there might have been some more value possibly if filming had been permitted to conclude but as said maybe the drama had more oomph then the script ever did

Fwiw im sure the porsche was chosen for its plate - its what they do and im sure it would have been edited differently if it wasnt for all the uproar ,,, note there were zero anti argie references shown in any clips on tv ( hard to believe none were made )

Argentina does look gorgeous ,, not that any brits would want to rush out there now after seeing that hostility

Damn shame to leave those cars behind though - i love top gear but do find when they waste nice cars it is kinda heracy from a petrolheads point of view

Agreed on both counts. Given that they have made numberplate based jokes before I seriously doubt that they weren't aware of how that plate could be read.

As you say, I wonder how different the edit would have been if the show had got its planned ending?...
