SD cards
I have just tried to transfer a load of itunes music to a 4gb sandisk card. Pop the card into the computer and everything opens up ok, dragged about 400 songs from itunes to it and all seemed ok. On the screen it showed all of the songs were on the card. However, when I put the card into the car (it has a slot for sd - its not a scoob lol) it seems only about 100 songs are on there?
Baffled???? |

Some are probably in MP3 format which the car will play and others are in iTunes format (is it m4a?) or you've downloaded them from iTunes and they have protection on them that will only allow you to play them on iTunes or an iPod. Have you set your iTunes up to rip CDs into MP3 or iTunes format, obviously the default is iTunes that won't play on any other device.

It may also depend how many layers there are in your directory tree, as some players can only navigate down a couple to source the Audio files.
Or it may be due to you trying to use something that starts with an 'i' and therefore bends you over ready to take it.......... |

I think in itunes, right click or in the menu, open file location and pull the out of explorer as per red baron's comment re: formats

Most likely layers in the directory tree. It make sure they are exported as MP3 or just do what I've done and buy a 160gb iPod!

Cool, thanks Nick. I have an ipod, but its more about being able to play all my music without having to leave an ipod in the car or keep taking it out. Having said that the other downside of the SD is that there is no menu, so you just have to keep pressing forward if you dont want a particular song. I think I will just carry on using my iphone on bluetooth as that seems easier!!! |

I ended up buying a iPod classic purely for car connection, even though the H/U could take a removable hd the interface for navigation was pants.
