Default Speed sensor wire problem

Hi all iv got a swoosh all in one system and on wiring it up I can't seem to find a wire it's asking for , all the systems work but the only one not working is the shift light and rpm readout the single wire I have on the diagram need to be connected to the ( speed sensor ) I connected in to the speed sensor wire running to the Ecu and this dose not work for the system is there another wire I can try to add it to ( 1993 import wrx )

double check. I don't see how a RPM meter or a shift light would work off a vehicle speed sensor.

What's the make/model of the kit you are using so we can see if we can find a wiring diagram on line to have a look at ?

Hi it's a swoosh stvr system ill try and find the instructions and get a photo but done the typical bloke thing chucked them thinking yer I know best

I'm praying I still have the instructions there in 1 of 8 bin bags ill search though later and rack your brains if that's ok cheers

1. they sell those units on ebay, see if the seller will kindly email you a scan of said instructions

2. a car from '93 would have an analogue cable driven speedo, cos my '97 impreza has.

3. If you truly need some speed sensor, it may be possible to install one of the more accurate (at speed) bicycle computers, as is trendy with kit car builds. MAYBE

I would guess for earlier cars that the wire would connect to something else like cam sensor or coilpack or something as you could determine engine RPM from that, which is why I wanted to see the wiring diagram.
