AA mechanics seem to get younger every year. Hope you got it sorted.

The little chap with his arms folded, if he belongs to you Nick you are definitely bringing him up the right way. I mean Chelsea shorts, a true blue

On a serious note I hope you get it sorted

When I first brought the car I had a leak on the drive (maybe prop shaft) seal fixed, which had almost the same symptoms. I could smell a bit of burnt oil a few weeks back, but had some smoke coming out of the bonnet vent so what ever it is is getting on something hot. I've had a search around it with a torch and cant see anything. Getting it booked in to be looked at.

Rocker cover gasket on drivers side can cause that symptom as it drips on the up pipe ..

Check turbo oil return also,
Rockers normally gently weep (not dissimilar to guitars )

Not sure if yours has a oil cooler, but my car lost 1.5 litres in a few miles when a corroded oil cooler pipe decided to leak. Oil cooler is on the drivers side behind the front grill.

It does indeed have an oil cooler - I’ll look there as well. Cheers
