advice please
ok, im looking for a digital SLR, and im currently looking at 2,
firstly the Canon EOS 550D second the Nikon D90 18-105mm this is to be my upgrade to the 21st century (my olympus om10 just cant cut it anymore, and the body has started to leak light....oh, it takes 35mm film..lol) i keep looking at the pro's and cons of each, but at the moment..the Nikon is edging it, Iwill just need the nudge in the right direction... |

This is the advice that you will be given by everyone:
Go try them in the shop before buying. They differ in feel, handling, menu's etc. Both are capable cameras so really down to the choice of feel. Also don't be tempted by sway. I'm a Canon owner but wouldn't suggest to you go buy the Canon. Up to you, but as said it's all in the grip and feel. Just my tuppence worth. Roo PS Canon are the best Nikon is cr@p |

Yet again
Both cameras are as good as each other, they both have pro's and cons which are best tried out in the shop, to see how it sits in the hand, how easy it is to make important and quick changes in settings, how the menu is laid out etc etc. Unlike Roo, I'm a Nikon user, but like Roo, will say that the two are so close to each other that which ever way you go, you won't be disappointed. I think Nikon does sit better in the hand and the menu / functions are slightly better. But image quality is better on the Canon and the Lens range and quality is slightly better. PS Nikon are the best Canon is cr@p |

I have a canon, and you have come to the right place for advice, got great help and tips from Worzel and StevePPP and a few other members, and still learning now.

ok...went to park cameras...fondled both cameras for a while...mmmmm...gadget geekness....
decided on the ............ eos 550D with an 18-135mm sandisk 16gb Extreme HD Video hmc Hoya 62mm UV(C) HMC Filter and the Canon DSLR Accessory kit (which includes Adobe Elements 8) dont ask how much tho..lol both cameras are fantastic pieces of kit, no doubt about that, but the nikon was just edged out by the price, functions and weight..lol although it feels nice in the hand, it was far more weighty than the Canon, and then 1080i HD recording swung it in the end. |

That's a good piece of kit you have there. The lens has a great focal range for a general walkaround..........but wait till the bug bites. I would suggest now is the time to get a second job to fund you impending additction to quality glass Happy snapping. Roo |

There is one of the truest comments I have ever heard. If you thought that modding a scoob was addictive, wait until you open the door to the Aladdins Cave that is photography. |
