Default Euro's for Germany 2012

Hi Chaps

After speaking with Neil yesterday about this years ring trip, he pointed out that Buying Euro's at the moment is a good idea, when he bought them they were at a fairly good 1.18 per pound, this morning they are 1.21 per pound.

If possible, it might well be worth getting them ASAP. Like we said yesterday, they are not LIKELY to go much better than this.

I will be heading off to the post office this morning.

A little helping guide though:

Your room is 62 euro's per night, split between 2 is 124 euro's each, minus the £50.00 deposit (this must be cash, Jackie doesn't do Credit Cards) on top of the room costs, is your drink and food chitty that you run up at Jackies.

Petrol: you will need 2 tanks there and 2 tanks back at worst, then depends on how much and how fast you drive when there.

Lap tickets, again depends on how many you want to do, check the official site for current lap prices.

Food and drink is about on a par with here, so whatever you think you would spend in 4 days.

Costs before you go:

European Insurance & recovery with repatriation, shop around for best deal, no more than £50 though. Whatever you do though, make sure you have repatriation with it, you could regret it if you have a problem.

Track insurance, this is up to you, some people do it, some don't. Prices vary, if you can even get cover?

Ferry £60.00

Legal requirements for in car (spare bulbs, first aid, triangles etc) shop around again, £30-£40.

All in all, expect to pay somewhere in the region of (don't quote me on this) about £500.00 - £600.00 per head, for a split car.

Euro vs GBP is at a 6 month high atm.

I would expect it to drop in coming month to around 1.17

I think you will find PO will take your legs off over the counter Steve.

Best rates are available online, but be careful paying by card as some banks charge even for debit cards.

rates have dropped almost 1 Cent over weekend

Hi Vis clothing for each person in the vehicle,

And a Fire Extinguisher.

Back on the subject of money.

I can only find 1.167 as the max.

I got mine money today as the rate may well start to fall with what is going on in Greece today.

If only I had a crystal ball..

It certainly peaked on Monday, great shout from Neil for this! I got €50 more than last year.

With regards to the stuff for the cars, you can buy kits from halfrauds or even on the boat. These include everything you need!

If needed I have triangle, vests bulb kit etc. which I'm happy to lend to somebody since I'll be stuck in the UK. Also Fire extinguisher (but no bracket as it's mounted in my car)
