Default Colin's Type R V-limited

Thought it was about time to start a project tread as the car is nearly finished............for now

I purchased the car as a fairly standard un modified beauty (a few cosmetic touches) and kept it that way for nearly 2 years.

Then after reading most of the project threads on here and SES I decided to have a go myself..........at the worst possible time as was also trying to buy my first place. That said I just about got though it!

So step 1 decide which direction to go in, I originally was going to go down the 2.1 stroker route with supporting mods but I came across another idea after seeing the forged RA Dan had for sale. With all the hard work all ready being done I decided to buy it/strip it and fit all the up-rated parts to the type r and selling the old bits to compensate the cost and so far it all pretty much gone to plan.

Only hiccup so far is that the original front mount I bought was for a pre 96 car, Thankfully though I managed to pick up an APS monster kit and APS caik, which has all now been fitted courtesy of Dan.

Other new parts are a VF34,lateral 800cc injectors and ecutek ecu.

Simon was down yesterday and put the base map on so it will be mot'd next week and will be mapped the week after.

I cant wait to get it back! and the best part is I'm off to the ring 3 days after its mapped so will be putting it through it paces!

I used to s#hit myself in it when it was standard so god knows what it will be like once its finished!!

heres a couple of pics

Standard

Old engine

and a few of the build

And eventually It will look something similar to this

I will be concentrating my efforts on styling once I get back from Germany........and possibly a six speed????????

Have to say a MASSIVE thanks to Dan for all the work he has put in! and he did do literally all the work! lol

will put up the full spec list in the next couple of days.

Cheers Colin.
