Turbo Heat shield "Trimming"
Now I've finally fitted my decat downpipe I need to trim the turbo heat shield a bit to get it to fit, any tips or advice before I attack it with a hacksaw and file?

Cut it just below the seam/spot welds so you end up with a little top hat cover.
Then trim the rear where the semi-circle bit for the exhaust pokes through at an angle to allow the bellmouth to fit. You then end up with 1 screw in at an angle near the intercooler and two screws at the rear to bolt it onto the bracket on the turbo. If you want to pop down with it, it may be easier to just point at it and show you. |

May be easier, alternatively I'll bring it on Sunday along with a permanent marker. Seems a shame to cut it up after I polished it.

This polished bit stays, it's what you can't see that goes. |

i always leave the portion that runs down the drivers side of the turbo, helps keep heat away from the PS lines
