The ninja sport cat says the centre pipe can be decat and pass the MOT. Is this so?

My Miltek passes, it's the full 3' system with the sports cat in the mid section, so any good sports cat should pass

Is this image correct?
Is the Newage exhaust in 4 parts?
IF I but the downpipe and centre section, is there another section with a cat still remaining? Or does the "centre" section do away with the cat between the DP and CS?

the std Euro/UK spec new-age car has a 4pce system as the pics above but has only 2 cats in the first and 2nd pipe after the Turbo (01-05 2.0 WRX also has a pre-cat in the up-pipe)
based on that if you remove the first 2x then you have no cats and hence no MOT passs......

if you have a JDM t/scroll then Milltek do a centre sports cat but its in the d/pipe for UK cars

Mines a UK car but with the JDM style 3 piece Miltek from Powerstation/Litchfield with the cat in the mid section, I think it's a special item that's specifically available from them (not even listed on the Miltek site).

Some systems have a longer downpipe and centre section to effectively remove the downpipe cat and cat pipe cat, These only work as a full system, e.g. The GRD exhausts/Miltek

I'm not paying £700 for a Milltek. I might be ignorant but I am definitely no millionaire!!

If you get this pipe and a sports cat down pipe then theoretically it would be same as the ppp package so should pass the mot

This has got out of hand, What is it about scoobs? They suck you in ... spend spend spend...

I was originally just thinking of decatting the downpipe but leaving the cats. Just to give it a bit quicker breathing... but still keeping the noise down so I can handsfree still in the cabin...

Any advice, guys?

Where in l'ton, not devil developments?

What size exhaust are you looking at 3 or 2.5'? What other mods are you 'planning' as a 2.5 becomes a restriction above a certain level.

Most important cat to bin in my opinion is the precat in the up-pipe this kills spool and can disintegrate and screw the turbo. It also just so happens I'll have a Harvey up-pipe for sale in the next week or so, this was spec'd for an APs SR40 turbo on a 2.0 so not sure how suited it is for your turbo, but will be far better than stock, maybe Alyn can help with spec on this? Also available will be a set of Harvey ported headers as I'm going tubular.

If you want an MOT friendly system the normal idea is to get a sportscat downpipe, decat cat pipe and a straight through (or resonated) centre with a sports back box. Litchfield have moved the sports cat to the centre section of their exhausts, I believe to give better spool characteristics and protect from anti-lag systems to some extent.

You'll see pretty good gains from a simple decat pipe, centre and back box combo and can add the downpipe at a later date or hang on for a prodrive downpipe second hand.

I was thinking of just the 2.5" downpipe but got tempted to decat centre too until I found out there is another pipe required for another £100 ish!!
This car is staying standard. Hey shut up laughing... I know I said that last time but....
I'm thinking of fixing the classic and have that as the toy and this one as the "Executive" work car...
Anyway, I was looking at say £150 downpipe and that's that. Now its £300 DP plus £100 centre AND £100 for another... plus fittings...
H. E. L. P. ! It is a lot of moneys....

Unless your going down the full on modded route, Keep it standard mate - Makes next to sod all difference on a WRX with a nice spooling turbo already. And life is allot easier come MOT time. If you want a little extra noise, just chuck a second hand back box on which is a 10 min job and about £100-£150 second hand. A Classic or newage b/box will fit.

lambda is at the end of the d/pipe still fitted
