I got the same after speaking to Taomyn and they work fine. Taomyn is the man to speak to as he has fully investigated LEDs.

I have the festoon style with 4 or 6 small led's.
Be careful though as they come in slightly different lengths, so measure yours first.

Interior lights also tend not to be on the CanBus so no errors generated.

Yes as Frenchie says my STI is now all LED except for the two vanity mirror lights which I couldn't at the time find a part number for, and couldn't be bothered anyway. Maybe I'll look again. I've used both eBay for most and AliExpress for a few more difficult to obtain bulbs e.g. front DRLs

For the current gen STI they must be 28mm, not the 31mm you generally find on sale as they force the terminals apart too much. I had the multi-LED at first from eBay but they were quite dim and not much brighter than stock, so some different ones from AliExpress the single LED I linked to, and they were easily twice the brightness.

True and in the case of the current gen STI Subaru thankfully have not saddled it with the CanBus nonsense anyway, but they do no harm to be compatible and these days nearly all you can find is those. However, on the current gen STI you have to be vewy vewy careful in swapping them out because if you short the terminals you can easily kill the electronics in the car. So either be sure the light is switched off or disconnect the battery first.
