Default SES Trackday, Brands Hatch - Tuesday 17th April

Thinking about organising another SES trackday at Brands as there's been quite a bit of interest from people in last years thread about getting another session booked before the Ring trip (to act as a bit of a shakedown for those who want it!).

Having looked at the ClubMSV calendar, the date that jumps out is Tuesday 17th April, for an open pit lane evening.

15:30 Arrival & signing on
16:30 Driver briefing
17:30 Sighting Laps
20:00 Track Time Ends

Cost: £119

http://www.clubmsv.com/car-home/even...productid=1185

Please post up if you are interested, and i'll get something organised

I guess as long as you're there for the driver briefing it wouldn't be a problem. I know that doesn't take an hour so that might not happen until 5ish anyway.... maybe worth giving them a bell when we get it booked?

Five weeks before ?

If it goes so badly wrong that it can't be be fixed in five weeks, then it probably wouldn't be fixed in time for Germany if we did a track day next week

(now there's something positive thinking to convince people to come )

Looks to be a good few of us so i think it should be a go-er. Will give MSV a ring tomorrow if i get a second to see how many places are left. If there's loads, then no problems for inviting friends along in non-scoobs

So i think the current list is:

1. Steve_PPP
2. Anger
3. Bluebugeye (might turn up a bit late?)
4. KrissyB (Clio)
5. KrissyB (Glanza1)
6. KrissyB (Glanza2)
7. Hongkongfooi
8. Worzel
9. Moley

And Gimpy as a maybe, plus a few people coming to watch.

Just spoken to MSV and there is plenty of room at the moment (only 1 person booked out of max 20!).

I asked about the drive-by noise limit of 92db and he said that this was nothing new at Brands, its just they've started advertising the fact on the ClubMSV website. They've been doing drive-by tests for recent years and if we were fine then, we'll be fine now

Hi guys,

I've only done one track day before at an airfield in Abingdon. How does Brand's hatch fall in the suggested for novice/seasoned track user?

Also how much value do people see in this evening here compared to a day at (albeit a less famous) track for the same price. I'm keen to get some more track time but looking to ease in gently and not over do it too soon. I went to watch British Superbikes here and some areas looked hairy.

Cheers

John

Brands is a very good track to learn at, as it's a pretty short circuit.

DEFINATELY get an instructor in with you, it makes a massive difference

Would be good to have you onboard mate, looks like the best turnout for a trackday since the photoshoot one we did 2 years ago!

So definately the best opportunity to do a trackday with a few mates for a while i think

Defo, particularly as I am not going to Germany, so would be good to do something. Where can I get tested for db???. I know they will do it there, but I assume that'll be too late as I will have paid.

Full decat with afterburner angled back box Gary, so not sure it would pass? Dont get me wrong, its not deafening loud, but it is loud, particularly on full chat.

Get a Bung Steve

Had an afterburner vortex on my old classic and used the bung, makes a great deal of difference and easy to carry around for those moments you need it

Will require a small hole drilling in the tailpipe but you'll hardly notice it, had mine on the bottom

Thanks Ron. I have a bung, but again the advice is not to drive it hard with the bung in as the afterburner bung is particularly restricive and the car was mapped with the bung out. Looking back, I probably could have had a map for both, but it didnt even cross my mind. But god am I lovin it!

Get Simon to put an additional map on it then I'm sure he'll sort it out for you, that way you'll have all angles covered Theres loads of time to sort it
