Tesla
So we had friends staying who have a new Tesla and they took me out for a drive. Car generally looks very standard, acceration is impressive, but the car has no character. Seats are pretty rubbish, cornering at any speed meant sliding around and having to hang on to something. No radio or instruments, just a giant computer screen. Even in the passenger seat you could sense the weight of the car. Definitely not for me.

We have a model 3, as an everyday car i like it, stonking performance, above average handling, practical and cheap to fuel up.
Downside is they are now everywhere, bit bland i side and i hate not having buttons to control things.

Interesting. Ive just ordered a model 3 performance as a daily. The Cayman isn’t going anywhere!.
I test drove the 3 performance and was impressed. Totally different to a normal car and took a while to get used to it. The acceleration is leap years ahead of a combustion engined car and in a straight line the model 3 performance would leave my cayman s for dead. 0-60 in 3.1 seconds. Plus the performance has a lower suspension and bigger brakes. But, its never going to stir the soul like a flat 6 petrol engine. As a petrol head I’m looking forward to getting to grips with an electric car and seeing what they have to offer. I know its handling etc wont be near the Cayman and wouldn’t expect it to be, but it’ll be an interesting journey. Plus its as cheap as chips to run. Given the choice tough Terry, with your roads, keep the Scoob!!

Morning Steve, glad to hear your keeping the Porsche and not going all electric. Just thought the Tesla looked very bland, are plastic hub caps really necessary although I'am sure they help with aerodynamics. I'am very old school so not keen on the monolithic touchscreen, felt like I was in a computer game. I like lots of buttons and dials, although I'am still not sure what they all do. Why no regular radio? Mind having just spent 5 days in the South East for the first time in years and having witnessed the ever increasing traffic levels I was very happy to have my first helicopter flying lesson at Shoreham Airport. Now that's the way forward.
