Yeah, who knows where we'll be in another 6 months with foreign travel. Rubbish times.

I think late summer is your best hope for trips to Europe. Germany, like France was slow to get off the blocks and covid numbers are still on the rise, but both countries are dramatically ramping up vaccinations.

Make use of UK tracks then.
Cadwell has gotta be worth a shot for all you track fanatics. The only thing you'll catch in Lincolnshire is Cabbage Fly or Trench Foot. |

There isn't a track in the uk as good as the Ring or Spa.. As soon as Germany gets the green light happy days.. Going round and round a circuit that's only 2 miles long is hardly the same.. Cadwell does look fun though as a last resort I suppose.

But you can't get to Germany and you haven't done Spa.
I think you'll be impressed by Cadwell. Just saying.....this country has alot to offer yet everyone is obsessed with going abroad (and I dont just mean for the Nurburgring) |

Well I've just had it reaffirmed why I prefer driving abroard.
Ive just been out for a drive the first time in months. I drove from Hastings out to Brenzett (A259) and back again, returning via the Military Road, A259 then Winchelsea Beach and Farlight. Those that know the road will appreciate that its a nice road (driven with in the speed limits) it is now bloody awful to drive the road surface is terrible what used to be a nice surface is now like driving over speed bumps and to be honest its dangerous. The roads are in a disgraceful state constantly having to dodge potholes. And to top it all I topped the tank up with VPower a snip at £1.45 per litre. So what should have been a nice drive was very disappointing, this country is becoming a Sh*thole, its no wonder people like to go and drive in Europe.

I've driven to Rye, Brenzett, Ashford, Broad Oak, Cripps Corner, Staplehurst, Tenterden etc.....several times in the last few weeks and had great fun. Was it just the Military road that was bad, because Rye to Brenzett was fine last weekend. |

I used to travel along there every working day for about 3 years so I know it well. There are so many potholes around at the moment, just missed a big one on the newly surfaced part of the road between the top of Martineau Lane and Coastguard Lane.

There was a biggy on the camber road by the ranges. A slab has sunk and someone sprayed "caution' on the road.
But the warning comes a bit late when your 'enjoying yourself". I'm pretty sure my rear wheels where airborne when you kick out the other side of the subsidence. Definitely a brown trouser moment !!!! |

There are some great tracks in the uk and you can always get a car transporter if you worry about the UK roads.
The good thing about short tracks is that you get to know it faster and can start to push harder, learn how to use the car to its limits ( some times more than your talent?) If something goes wrong you don't have to pay a mortgage rate, and not have to get the car recovered form Europe. I love the ring but its so long it takes along time to learn. Can't wait to go again but happy to do a UK tracks instead |

Whenever we come to the UK I'am horrified by the condition of the road surface. Potholes are so large and frequent you actually lookout for them whilst driving. Here in France even small, rural roads are well maintained. Even the single track road that passes our house to the village was re-surfaced last year and I mean completely re-surfaced. Also the amount of litter at the side of the road in the UK is as bad as I've seen anywhere in the world. Couldn't believe the amount on the Lewes bypass..

I couldn’t agree more. Our work vehicles have had two damaged wheels within a month due to pot holes so big you could go exploring inside of them. The AA van that came out for one of the tyres had to swerve to avoid the thing and the council knew it was there because they had put up a temp sign warning of humps. They were like that for 6 weeks before being filled in and it’s not even a decent repair and looks awful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
