Default Weekend Surprise

Had a nightmare this weekend, should have been going to Blancpain GT at Brands Hatch....
But that went out the window Friday night when I got the 200sx out the Garage for a run.
I could spell gear oil?
Not something I wanted 2 weeks before Germany!

I Changed my propshaft oil seal not so long ago, but double checked that?

So, I removed the gearstick gaiter and, found it! seal had gone on the gearstick plate.

Is it a common failure on these cars/gearboxes? It's quite frustrating trying to find leaks, especially when the leak is up high and covering everything underneath.

Is it a box out job or can you do it from inside?

It was age related, just a gasket on top of the gearbox, which holds the gear stick in place. All done know.

All done from inside.
But if I had to remove the gearbox, there not that bad to remove, we changed the clutch and flywheel last year. Total time was around 2 hours.
