Pad Advice
Hi all, just wondering if I could have some advice. I'm starting to think about the track day on the 1st Dec. I did a half day track day about a year ago and the pads lasted about 3 laps before they stopped working! That was without driving too hard. Not sure what's on there, but they smoked quite well and as the same pads are still on the car and I'm thinking they should be replaced before the day.
Can anyone recommend some pads and a good place to get them? I have used Ian Godney in the past. Are EBC Bluestuff any good? Newage Brembos. Thanks in advance. |

I am about to order EBC bluestuff as they seem to be highly recommended. Alternatively, performance friction, which would be my other choice. These can be bought for around £200 for 4.

Never heard a bad thing about Performance Friction, but never used them as they don't make a pad for the newage 4pots
Has anyone here used EBC Bluestuff already? I'll be needing some fronts pretty soon as well i think. |

Ferodo DS2500 or 3000 for me - bit dusty but great pads. I had redstuffs for a while and they were pants not tried the blues but after my experience with the reds I'll be sticking to the DS's

think you have been slightly mis-informed/misled.......whilst PF dont do a "z-rated" pad in the 4pot shape they do do a front and rear set-up in the likes of '97 compound although this is more track/performance biased...... as for the recomends i may know a guy that can help...........spooky

Regarding the new EBC Bluestuff NDX Compound, we run this on our car here and of all the pads we've tried it is hands down the best pad all around (have tried various Ferodo, Mintex, Pagid and PFs in the past).
Good bite from cold, doesn't fade, no noise and great stopping power. PF .11s are very good too, but not as all around as the Bluestuff NDX. It's hard to imagine that anyone will ever come up with a better all round pad: http://www.ebcbrakesblog.com/2010/09...od-dykhouse-2/ http://www.ebcbrakesblog.com/2010/01...ng-brake-pads/ http://www.superhids.co.uk/-ebc-blue...dp51210sc.html http://bbs.scoobynet.com/showpost.ph...3&postcount=22 http://bbs.scoobynet.com/showpost.ph...&postcount=159 http://bbs.scoobynet.com/showpost.ph...&postcount=171 http://bbs.scoobynet.com/showpost.ph...&postcount=135 http://bbs.scoobynet.com/showpost.ph...&postcount=137 They work really well with plain OEM spec discs too. We had a customer buy a set of our OEM spec discs and Bluestuff NDX pads and went straight out to a trackday: http://bbs.scoobynet.com/showpost.ph...3&postcount=17 These will just get better and better as the miles go on them.

Hi mate,
Yes, IIRC you've got the same calipers as we have on our car which uses this pad at the front: http://www.superhids.co.uk/-ebc-blue...ront-set-.html
