Default CJ's Detail

On Saturday, we detailed CJ's Scooby.

After a nice gentle 7.00am start, we got stuck in with plenty of gusto.

We started with the usual snowfoam, wash, clay, rinse, dry etc. Then the car was taped up ready for machining. The car needed quite a heavy cut, but the paint gauge showed there was enough paint to take it. There were plenty of scratches / swirls in the paintwork. But the heavy cut paid dividends and revealed some beautiful paint underneath, which showed up as blue from certain angles. This was then followed by a polish, glaze, Nano Treatment and finally a Swissvax Wax. All the while this was going on, Martyn was working his magic on the wheels, arches and suspension.

Just after 9.00pm we finished the pictures and headed off home. The late time being due mainly to a problem right at the death, with the 3M low tack tape we use growing some teeth from nowhere and biting CJ's rear bumper and us on the arse. We still don't know how or why, but gutted doesn't even come close.

Thankfully, everything is sorted now though.

Below are some of the pictures from the day. Ron was my Light Man for most of the pictures, painting the scene with a 3.5million candle torch.

And a couple of shots from during the job

Nice job, bet you earn't your keep with that one. Nice to see it done and great results on a car that's not a trophy car with plenty of grim, and miles.

Loving the stance of your car and offset of the those wheels CJ.

Thanks chaps.
Great pics as always from Steve.

As you say Rob, its a car which is used, and showed signs of this.

It did test us, when i say us, steve and Ron,as they worked on the paintwork, whilst i anal'y played with the wheels, btrakes , arches etc.

As for the sodding low tack tape incedent, Chris was a gentleman and all is now in hand.

Really hope to see the car and Chris at some meets now.

It is a credit to your hard work though. I for one didn't think Cj's paint work would come up like that. :EVO:
