I've not heard of them being used on post 1996. Pre 1996 have used them to work around faulty coil packs.

I don't recall seeing them listed in the spec of some of the big spec cars.
Simon Roe (JGM) has used them in the past but this was pre96 and due to an alternative approach to using plug top coil packs, although I think he did have one melt at one point.
He would be the best person to ask.

cheers scott going to leave it and see how it gos i can play with plug gaps etc.
whats your veiws on simtec ecus.?
i really wanna do away with maf i think setting up blow through mafs sounds like a night mare.
have you read any think about maf sims?

It takes a MAP input and converts it to a MAF output which is fed into the PFC on the maf wiring pin. There is then a very nice bit of software AndrewC has developed which allows setup and tweaking of the MAF output and compensation for throttle application as MAP reacts slowler than MAF so the PFC accelleration compensations are not enough on their own.
It is a very nice bit of kit.
any thoughts please

AndyF and/or AndrewC used to sell MafSIms...I say used to as I think he has stopped.
From what I heard they had issues, I know simons had a habit of re-setting itself.

Simtek are v.popular if you have £1000 to spend and probably the next best bet after the Apexi PFC. Not sure how free you are to map them yourself though, I think you can buy a cable/lappy interface but I think it's locked to your unit.

This has spurred me on to email Simtek, 2nd time of asking. To see if I can get any more info on using/providing this solution.
