Simtek launch control help
Hi just fitted a stronger gearbox in my car and thought ill test the launch control but it wont hold revs at 5000 but revs to the red line if i let it. When Simon maped it he switched the anti lag and launch control on.Can anyone take me through how to use it, thanks

If you can i would get it put on a switch if you havnt already, different weather and surfaces require different revs to get the best launch

yes you can have a seperate switch from the Antilag mate

As its a switch its either on or off then? I cant dial different rev settings in for launch?

Im not sure how many different settings you can do on a Simtek with launch control... As i was drag racing in a championship last year i had it taken off, one week it would work and others i would just bog down and need higher revs to get off the line clean

as far as i am aware with the Simtek you usually have ALS on/off swith, and LC on/off switch. Theoretically you could have both on one switch i suppose.
You can't adjust the rev limit on the simtek, only on an ECU's like Syvecs, Motec etc. Though you might be able to use the socalled 'map switch' to have one set with a higher rev value for the LC? i know that the maps aren't independant so i don't know if you can adjust this or not? were you 100% stationary when trying the LC? as it will have a low speed cut off value.

only just seen this
the launch control is enabled by a switch.. the netural position switch.. put it in gear and when stationary and launch control is enabled. As it is no longer working and gearbox has been changed I suspect the neutral position switch is not wired in? You can run a normal on/off switch to the neutral position switch input to the ecu and group it and then it will work when switch is on etc.. Simon |

no problem.. that RA with that power makes for a rapid road car for sure.
