For those that wish to pay for the hotel by bank transfer you have until thursday evening to do so!

Just a reminder the hotel only takes cash no cards.

Same - car is mechanically sound - me - not so sure ha ha

Rob is coming to mine Sat for a car clean day - if anyone else fancies popping over to give there car a spruce before Germany, feel free - I have beer and hotdogs! (not quite an SES picnic to Wanda's high level!).

I think when people suggested you lifted the car a little as it rides a bit low this isn't quite what people meant.

Had this text from RAC earlier today...

Due to the current fuel shortages in France, if you're planning a trip there or travelling back to the UK, make sure you have enough fuel to complete your journey.

Shouldn't be an issue for us but goes to show they are issuing statements because of the problems Terry mentioned earlier...

Picked up my euros today, waited and waited and managed to get €1.30 to £1, so that's me pretty much sorted, just packing to go.

I might pop into Tescos and get mine tomorrow. Strange how the rate has got better, everyone expected the £ to weaken with the uncertainty over the referendum...

Last month's exchange rate graph:
http://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?fr...to=EUR&view=1M

Hmm.... how much to take this year...

Hayleigh has kept an eye on it the last three weeks and we decided to go for it yesterday as it was the best it has looked in a while. We felt, just like you, the closer the referendum got the worse it would get for the GBP, but it wouldn't seem that just yet.

Going to get the scoob back up in the air today, final checkover and re-fit undertray that's been off the car for best part of a year whilst i've had the oil leak. Then just sort a few little bits, remove lower zunsport grill to improve airflow into rad, topup Rain-X on screen etc.

Then off to fill her up with vPower. Makes sense to brim it before we set off just in case the petrol station at Ashford is mega busy with everyone trying to top up before France. But hopefully the situation will have settled down over there by Friday.

Queuing at Folkestone was reported yesterday but as you say Steve hopefully should be ok by Friday.

Theres a walkie talkie app for iphones (and I assume android) that works well - a friend managed to use it over around 75 miles! Ill try and find it...you can add as many people as you want, and it keeps the channels open e.t.c

Think its called Zello Walkie Talkie

Have added myself on there as SESrdlangy1 - its all free, so we could give it a try. You can create your own private channel e.t.c.

I'm guessing that needs to keep a data channel open rather than a voice call? In which case it'll rack up roaming charges and might drop in and out of signal in the rural parts?

Fuel problems have eased here, so shouldn't be any problems with fuel until the Euros start on the 10th when most of France is going on strike. Wish I was coming with you, but I don't think our Renault Captur fits the bill.

Is anyone from the 'M23 corridor' planning to meet on the way to the Hythe/Folkstone meet?

I'm coming up the M23 and picking my co-pilot up from the Shell in Godstone on the way if anyone is passing that way and wants to get the convoy going early!
