Wow another successful trip to the Ring !!.

I think it's fair to say everyone had a great time

I certainly did even though it was my 7th trip I will never get tired of the fantastic roads around the ring and the Ring its self.

Thanks to Scott for sorting the hotel booking.

Thanks to everyone that made the trip,

the "newbies" took everything in their stride and all now are entitled to show off their ring stickers.

Sorry to see Scotty's on a trailer after what appears to be major head gasket failure. If you want to dump it somewhere my drive may have room for a white type r shell. Only kidding, I hope it gets a new and better lease of life.

I'm glad all enjoyed it and the Hotel worked out well.
I know I enjoyed staying there but was naturally cautious with you lot descending on it.
Time to pre-book next year then

Thanks to you both for organising a brilliant trip!
I will also never get tired of the place, it is a beautiful part of the world, and such a contrast from life here in the UK, true petrol head Mecca without a doubt a must for anyone even if you don't drive the track, just to soak up the atmosphere. It was a shame that Scotty's car had a bit of a mishap on the way home, but he made it round the ring with it! thanks to some careful guidance from Big-E
I hope next year Silversurfer (and one or two other previous regulars!) will join us once again for what is without a doubt the best destination in the world for all petrol heads!

Pics and Vids to follow!

ps. sucks to be home!

Thanks Scott and Ian for a great trip once again, put me down again for next year, and the year after and so on.

Sorry to hear Scotty and Louise having not so good luck on way home. Hope you get home ok with car.

Jo and I had a great time this year, and almost certainly will be back again this year in a more Ring orientated car, LHD Clio 172 Cup i hope.

The Golf as usual didn't miss a beat and will be very sorry to be letting it go at some point soon, it has truly been a reliable car and only wish i had the room and finances to keep it. but alas i must move on.

Also thank you to Greg for help organising the spare of the moment Ring taxi, which Jo, myself and Claire really enjoyed. Also for going back tomorrow to find my glasses that i believe i left in the pizza place the other night, doh.

catch up with you all soon.

OK just had a check of the tyres and i've got 6.5mm left on them so thats fine

Although it doesn't really matter i've worked out my mpg anyway, i did just under 900 miles (normally around 1000 when we stay at Jackies) and i got around 21mpg which i don't consider too bad, the best i got was 27mpg from the Shell garage on the M20 to the Shell garage in Belgium, worst was 15mpg which must of been when i was playing on the hairpin roads

Only just got on SES for the first time in 5 or 6 days so plenty of catch-up reading to do.

Firstly, what a great trip. Really enjoyed staying at Eddys, so thanks for sorting things with the booking Scott. Location is spot on, nice to enjoy more of Adenau's local restaurants as well rather than eating at Jackie's most nights. Works out quite a bit cheaper too, plus I think we did about 100 miles less this year in total despite longer drives up to Cochem and over to Bad MonsterMunch Whilst the road to Jackie's is stunning, bombing up and down it several times per day does add a lot of miles and fuel.

Glad the newbies had a great first trip, shame Scotty's car let go on the way home but sure it'll be back in the near future. Its far too nice a classic to not rebuild Hope your journey back to Scotland today goes well.

Ring taxi with Dale was an awesome experience, blimey that guy can drive! It's genuinely impressive to see the difference in speed/racing lines between drivers like us (who think we are fairly quick) and a professional driver who knows what he's doing. Makes you realise we're actually rather slow!

Will sort through some photos shortly, looking forward to next year already!

I've tidied up Scotty's engine talk into a new thread as its a conversation that'll go on for a while and would be better not mixed with the Ring trip thread

New thread is here:

Well I think I have just about calmed down after having such an awesome weekend. All the hype before the trip was certainly granted as the ring is a special place thats for sure.

I am pleased I got my first laps 'under my belt', I loved every second of the experience despite also being a little scared by the unknown with my abilities, my car and the track/location itself.

Thanks to every single person who went on the trip for making the weekend what it was, you are a great bunch of people and made the whole experience very easy for me as a 'newbie'.

Finally of course a massive thanks to SilverSurfer and Big 'E' for all their organising, I thoroughly enjoyed my first trip to the ring!

I have 100's of pics to sort through and will post some up when I can.

Great weekend
Great to see everyone
Words cannot express what a feeling of nostalgia that place gives on return.
So many wonderful moments - whether fresh and new ala our ride with Dale or traditional such as our autobahn blasts and flybys. That place never gets old.
Lots of love to you all : ).

It's the truth! Slapped her in the garage when I got back, straight to work the next morning in the daily hack, I will give her a quick wipe down on Saturday, the 2 wheels I cleaned are in the hallway so kind of had to!

Don't like leaving her dirty though

Mine went straight in the garage too, not touched it since. Still need to unpack half the car! Might give it a wash tomorrow and put it back on the road wheels.
