Hi Dave,

Ok seen the post, i can see where that got lost so my apologies for that....
It was sheer weight of numbers.

Let me check if we are having the different groups again for next year, if so I will get all your details and pass them on to the guy who is in charge of the driver list.

Sorry to hear about your father, I hope he is ok, going into shock sounds serious?

I guess we weren't made aware of the problem so were unable to solve it which is really not on. At the very least I will have a chat with the St John's ambulance to find out if they mentioned it - those guys do an amazing job so it would be unusual for them not to make us aware.

just to clarify, do you mean the area where the tarmac and the grass meet at the edge of the runway all along that line or was there a specific step that caused the problem next to the Lexus stand?

Sorry to ask but I need to make sure it is addressed so the more info you can give me the better.

It was the area where the tarmac met the grass all the way along the path from the tented ticket area all the way up to the lexus stand, passed the VW beetle and escort van milk shake truck and so on. the step to the grass from the tarmac was a double step down, with the first being an identical layer of same colour tarmac approximately 1.5 inches in height difference to the base layer, then a colour change to the concrete base and then Grass. the same colour 1.5" step was very hard to notice, and I think this is what caused so many people to trip on it.

He is fine thank you for asking, though it will be several weeks before he has full use of his hand again.

Sorry to hear about his hand, If you contact me prior to the event next year and remind me of this I will see if I can arrange something personally by way of an apology.

I've passed the info on to the committee member in charge of health and safety so we are now aware of this issue, I'm surprised nobody else came forward so thank you for doing so.

Lol Steve,

I'm fine I just feel stupid as was going to St. John's to tell them what happened so it wasn't as if I didn't know about the ridge at that point but equally so many tripped as it seemed invisible. I was concerned for Dave's Dad as he was quite unwell.

Thanks to Hash for taking the time to respond to the posts on the forum. They could have very easily been ignored but I personally think it was nice to take the time to respond.

I agree, everything seemed to be crammed into a corner when there was so much space to use it didn't really make sense. Without a doubt Asda day is brilliant and how, or at least similar, to how this should have been.

Hopefully it's not just a case of responding, it's important we take this on board and try to make the event as good as it can possibly be.

The fact we're all doing this part time doesn't mean it shouldn't be better every year.... we set ourselves a very high bar and if your feedback helps us get better then it's only going to be a good thing!

Fair play to you sir, can't do more than that IMHO.
