Well a little update - I was unable to remove 100% of the scratches and swirl marks from the Audi myself, so enlisted the services of Daryl down at Offset Detailing, Essex.

A fantastic guy - really knows his stuff, and the car is now protected for 24-36 months.

A full two stage paint correction detail, and then Kamikaze Miyabi Coating, Kamikaze Infinity Wax coating on the paint. The wheels have been sealed with Gtechniq G5, and the leather inside with Gtechniq L1. The Engine treated with Aerospace 303 sealer.

To say I am happy with the results are an understatement!

50:50 comparison:

Mirror done - door not done:

Side Done:

Close up 50:50 -

Bonnet done:

Engine done:

Wheels and Tyres Sealed:

Finished:

Yeah should be! the Miyabi is a ceramic glass sealant coating - so pretty tought stuff. The infinity wax is also part glass coating so again, pretty resilient to the bird cr*p! Although with me, if a bird does use it as target practise, its only on there for a few hours till I get home anyway

Had a 5min try of fitting it - the gap is there - but it doesn't stay secured.

Figured I was being thick, and haven't had chance to try again since.

It tucks up up the fin in the grill, then pulls to the front but doesn't lock in place - it just falls back out.

I haven't forgotten it

The A6 may be a different fit as there are a few styles. Sounds like you need the one with little metal retaining clips.
If it doesn't fit I may have a use for it on the A5

Well another small update...

Car has gone back AGAIN under warranty to have the wheels done for a THIRD TIME!

Also having the front bumper resprayed as the laquer has started peeling off the corner of that too!

Getting slightly fed up with it keep going back but glad it's all under warranty.

Only benefit this time is I have this to drive..........

Audi A6 Allroad Quattro.

V6 engine - over 200bhp and pulls like a train!

Best bit is electronic suspension which lifts the car quite some distance when in Allroad mode.

Was it a full refurb last time or just a mobile flick over ?
Would be better to try and get them to pay for Lepsons to do them.
You would get a 1 year warranty from Lepsons aswell.

They have had a full refurb each time - first time was dodgy paint, 2nd time they hadn't re-diamond cut the wheels so did a full refurb again including acid stripping and diamond cutting and painting, this time all the laquer has peeled off and paint bubbled up.

I did suggest lepsons and they said no as the bodyshop that has done the wheels have to correct their mistakes.. sigh....

Did the bodyshop use a Satin lacquer then ?

Yeah they did...

Im just a little fed up with the fact I have had the car 4.5 months, and out of that, I haven't actually had it for nearly 4wks.

I am waiting for a service repairs manager to give me a call when the car is ready so we can discuss what has been done, and what action they will take if anything else goes wrong!

Also got my letter yesterday regarding the emissions malarkey and that they can now offer to correct the software, so rang them, and they are doing that also why they have it.

I can't be doing with a car that nice looking filthy!! It's done 1300 miles and they delivered it with baked on bird **** on the bonnet!!! It's already eaten through and stained the laquer but I draw the line at machine polishing a hire car

The S3 had similar low miles and brake dusr had already started to eat the alloys. Although this was partially down to over fancy alloy design and poor cleaning routine.

Is it 2.0 or 3.0
How do you find the throttle responsee from rest ?
If it's the same 2.0 'ultra' TDI that i had then it's probably pretty numb.
