Hi, per nikkinokkinoo’s earlier post, I would like to go on this years Nuremberg trip. A chap called Alan will be going with me as well. Probably take a Clio 172 (sorry not a Subaru!) We would go for 3 nights (return on the Monday). Are there 2 single rooms still available? Cheers

Not sure to be honest, I would doubt it as I've already got requests for 4 singles, and single rooms are often difficult to reserve.

Would you mind sharing with Alan as I've got spare twin rooms already provisionally booked?

If this is a problem Ill have to contact the hotel.

ps. don't worry about bringing a Clio as Im taking its big brother.

You can make payments by either card or cash,

But they would prefer cash surprise surprise.

22.5 days to go !!

Just got the new Hero 6 Go Pro for the event - really nice upgrade on my last model which was a 3+. Ordered some ally box section which I'm going to create a mount between the seats for my sub 8 min laps (be lucky if I get round in 11mins LOL).

Don't forget crash helmets if your going out on the track.
It's all too easy to not bother, but those that went last year know that a simple error can be fatal.

Got a new gearbox sump to be fitted on Tuesday then get some euros and sort out breathalyser and spare bulb kit and fire extinguisher. No problems! Oh and hopefully get another revision on the map from the elusive KiDO!

Well the gear box is having to come out again as the newly fitted clutch master cylinder has made no difference to the operation of the clutch, so a new concentric slave has to be fitted...
Fingers crossed it gets sorted...

The WR1 is getting her hopes up ...

I've used them for the last 2 years, it's a basic cover, there are add-ons etc.
Track day insurance is a very dark area for most insurance company's.

Yes I've got some cover with them .

It looks as if the ring is no longer open on Friday evening, but that can change it has in the past..

This is what I've been debating.. Tried getting a quote over the phone from them so I can make sure everything is covered but apparently they only do online quotes.

It's a bit unclear as to whether the policy covers things like the notorious barrier charges and recovery etc..

Think I'll just end up choosing one day out of the weekend for track time and cover one day.

Thanks all!

Its the 3rd party liability I'd be more worried about should the worst happen. If you can get a policy from Moris that covers 3rd party then jump at it. The costs from barrier damage and closure aren't as bad as a lot makes out - a few thousand euros at most (and that's if you shut the ring for repairs).

The worst case scenario is you dropping fluids or causing an accident that leaves someone else injured... that's where the 3rd party liability comes into its own.

Hopefully none of the above will happen and it wont if you are sensible.

I think its better to have some cover than none at all, personally I can't afford to have a total loss should something unfortunate happen.

FYI - you don't need a breathalyser, yes the stupid law still exists, but until that's done away with (as the rest of the EU don't want it) the French simply decided to impose no fine or penalty for not carrying one. They used to sell them here in all the petrol stations and supermarkets, until everyone stopped buying them.

I’ve only got cover for the Sunday so the forecast better be right! We’re thinking of a road trip on the Monday possibly down the Mosel from Cochem to Koblenz.

Myself and the Ol' Man were only talking the other day about a day out driving with a nice bite to eat for lunch. Sounds good.

We went to a stunning location for lunch last year, Steve PPP led us there.

I'm quite happy left sat down at Pitstop supping beer all day watching the world and the cars go by!

We did that trip in 2016 (I think ) Ive never seen Granby move so fast.

He was running yes running from a horrendous hail storm.

We went on a cable car over the river,up to a fort/castle..

GedeonsEck, up above Boppard - its here:
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/...56!4d7.5723079

The entrance to the road that heads up there is here - you probably remember it looks as if you are driving up someones private driveway!
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/...1996!4d7.58853

If you decide to head over there, last year I took us the wrong way over to Boppard, hence the getting lost in the town first. If you head up river from Cochem then take the L207 from Alken, that drops you right past the lane to the restaurant. Much easier and if you get to the town at the bottom you know you've gone too far.
