Just read your txt Scott. Sorry to hear you're on bucket duty!!

Like the others said, if things improve later on this morning pop down for the afternoon, sure we could get you signed on at lunch time if your stomach hasn't gone the same way as Ollys!

I'm going to fail to appear as a spectator I'm afraid.

Done something to my shoulder (seems rotator cuff damage) and at the moment can't imagine being able to change gear too easily, so not sensible to go on a jaunt!

Have fun all.

I will bloody well make it to one of these meets!!

great to see everyone again. thank god the weather improved.

Unfortunately there was a small off for one of our lot but probably no one injured and easily repaired. I had to leave early but those on track this afternoon lovely conditions. great selection of cars on view too.

Simon and Jo are both fine, there was some tears but I gave Simon some tissues.

The damage at first inspection seems to be dare I say not to bad.

Certainly fixable but its a question of time and money..

Thanks for the passenger ride Dave. Was great to meet people.

Here's some pictures I took on my phone of some of the super cars on show:

Got a few others that don't want to upload at the moment.

Great day on circuit, glad the weather improved from first thing, the first session was very greasy but after about 11ish it was perfect.

Certainly a nice change to get a free buffet lunch, and the whole day was very relaxed (for most!). Certainly more cars than I expected though, even with a full day pass I can't imagine getting in more than 5 or 6 sessions just due to the pit lane queue round to the paddock.

Si - hopefully when you get a chance to take bumper/wing off the car then there's not too much damage underneath. Super-strength t-cut might be being optimistic though!

Thanks to everyone for coming along, good to see quite a few SES regulars come down to spectate and some newer members too

Had a great day today even after this mornings drama, not nice to see anyone has had an off but glad both Si and Jo are ok. Hope you both got home without any trouble too.

Weather cleared up and made for a good day of spectating many varying cars out on track.

Thanks Steve for taking me out on a passenger lap, I think your brakes could stop the world turning! Thanks also to Wanda for the amazing hospitality, an awesome cake and drink service as ever.

Was good to meet Paul and Stacey, glad you managed to come down today.

I have put a load of pics up in the event pics section so be sure to check them out.

Thanks to everyone yesterday who organised and helped, also CJ for offering to escort me home and bringing discs round.

Thank you to a wonderful girlfriend, who didn't tell me off for being an idiot and who is supporting me in getting car back on road, most likely for supercar seize and Germany.

I may give track days a miss until I have actually put more than a 100 miles on my car this time.

Glad everyone had a good day yesterday and believe it or not I still had a great day.

Glad you're both okay, that's the main thing.

Everyone cocks up now and again, it's what makes us human.

Look at Maldonado, he makes a living out of it!

The key benefit you have is it isn't your daily driver, so things could be much worse!

All the best with fixing it up.

well, after some thinking of breaking the wagon and getting a saloon, i have reached a decision to rebuild for now. Economics would be better to break and buy another, but i just haven't got time or space to really do that at the moment.

So first option is a Prodrive saloon front end going on, failing that a hawk, possibly wagon but maybe saloon front end.

The unbolting and purchasing starts now.

so next question is, does anyone know a good spray shop to spray stuff off the car?

Depending on how far you want to travel, there's a few bodyshops in Farnborough. There's a good one that will do cash deals...

D&A customs are very very good sprayers - have done all the work on mine and the guy has sprayed subarus before...only prob is they are in sittingbourne which I guess is to far to travel... But they are good and highly recommended

Seriously, why do people think "cash deals" are acceptable?

If someone doesn't charge you VAT because you're paying cash, that's against the law. As is the income and/or corporation tax evasion that goes hand in hand with it by not running the job through the books.

Personally I think it's abhorrent and I don't think the site "staff" should let posts recommending it go unchallenged.

Sorry for the ranting nature, but it really winds me up.

Back to the main point, I'll be interested to see what materialises Si!

We're an easy going bunch

But on a serious note, its in our terms & conditions blurb at the bottom of every page that opinions posted on the forum are just that, and not necessarily those of anyone in the SES team. We'll only step in and remove posts if there is an obvious legality issue, such as posting copyrighted or other illegal content. Discussing cash jobs isn't breaking the law.

And if you want my personal opinion on this one I agree with you - but unfortunately it is all too commonplace for independent traders these days. For a job like painting the front of a car, I'd want it through the company books so I have a receipt in case the job isn't to my satisfaction and I need to get it rectified....
