looking good. I am considering doing the wrap on my roof as the clearcoat has stared to go off. was there a guide on the net that you looked at to find out how to do it ?
I've done window tints before, (Not great at it) so I guess it's a similar process?

Do a few small bits first, you get used to working with it. I was up till 1.00 Sunday Morning doing it though, took about 4 hours. Peel abit off, smooth down, peel a bit off, smooth down...repeat repeat.

I got a sheet 3m by 1.5m for £40.00 from flebay.

Did this over the weekend. Very easy, already had the required different hand brake.

Just need to plastipant it now.

Also finally replaced my cracked Pro-drive lights, was a mission, have learnt a lot along the way. It was much much cheaper than buying them from Subaru, for exactly the same part. Upgraded to HIDs while I had them out.

Looks really good - have you tried the aircon/ heating yet? It works much better with the revised controls installed.

Seeing as I washed the car yesterday for Goodwwod this morning, I used some time finishing the insides this afternoon.

Hawk Seats, Dash and Door cards. Dash also plastidipped.

Just need to get some new mats.

After getting this, I decided to have a go at porting while it was all off.

Header Pre-port.

Both sides pretty coked up, 10 years worth I imagine.

Always get new ones, cheap from Japimportparts.

With the up pipe, got a real STi one with no cat. Much easier to get in and out through that bloody small gap.

Looked up a few images on Google, as long as you don't go beyond the ring of the gasket, its grind away. I took off a fair amount, and gave it a 45 degree angle as recommended. Smoothed it down as far inside as the dremel would go too, took the nasty burs off. One side has a big lump sat right be the port.

And to finish, heat wrapped the up pipe. To get around the CEL light error, which comes on instantly, like the airbag mod, a 2.2k ohm resistor gets plugged into the socket.

Done a few more bits.

Ripped out the insides...again

Finished off the interior with a Blue Carpet.

Added 3mm spaces to the rears, fills the arch better now.

Painted side skirts, JDM style, with front splash guards. Taken a few of the stickers off too now, I'm liking the more stealthy look.

Just need to drop it a bit now, thinking Tein S springs.

Car passed it MOT today, then threw a major major paddy...

High Pressure line went on the PS pump, emptied the entire contents onto the top of the engine, which then leaked down the front and back onto the exhaust...

First time I've opened the bonnet with the extinguisher ready, luckily the MOT place is just around the corner so it was just all smoke.

She's finally alive again. 3 mafs, miles of vacuum pipe, new jubilee clips, swearing, threatening to sell it....

Turns out it was a loose earth connection on the inlet Mani...

At least I've two spare Mafs now! On the upside she's running better than ever due to a brand new shiny maf from Jaguar that was half the price in comparison to Subaru dealer, yet still cones in a Subaru box....

Thanks to CJ and Bod fir that.

When I plugged the third maf in, and it still didn't work....R1NGO almost suddenly got a load more parts...by chance I noticed the main earth to the manifold was slightly loose, a few seconds later, perfect.

Interesting though, in all the posts about P0171, none if them mention checking earths...

Old bloke in a A-Class pulled out in front of Zig, panic set in, then carried on going. Brembo's saved the day but not the A-class, its f***ed. I'll grab a photo in a mo.

She's angry as hell. I'd just spent 5 hours cleaning it after the trip to you know where.

The A-Class is outside mangled on the drive, Zig made the bloke follow her here.

Thats the spray job sorted though, if the insurance dont write it off.

Can't see why to write it off that looks minimal damage but looks can be deceiving think there is a bumper the same as yours for sale in blue some where .

They've just looked at age of the car and the book price and figured it's cheaper to write it off than repair it. Guess the book price of a 2001 WRX is nothing like what the car is actually worth.

My civic has just had a bumper and lower tailgate replaced, parts come painted from Honda so minimal labour costs and the bill to the insurance company was £1400 quid plus a weeks hire of a Volvo V70. You can see why they probably think it's not worth repairing.

Mate!!! not good is it. I had this a while back with a 4DR classic. Was gutted at the thought of loosing the car. I did end up with car back in the end. Like Mr Baron said it all about figures with little regard for anything else.

Hope you get it sorted dude

Update...

Insurance peeps have agreed to repair! Horah!

Then the snide buggers put my insurance up as i quote

" We noticed from the photos you sent that you have a body kit fitted."

Lets just say the phone call to the underwritters was a little " blue " and filled with interesting Subaru facts...

Then they reduced my premium.

Great news that the cars getting fixed, although I must admit i'm surprised when you considering the price of the bumper and headlamps. Good job, its too nice a bug to be broken up
