I know, but if you are going to keep it...

Just having it to drive is probably more then enough now.

Should never have sold these really although the STI ones seem to sit a little lower which is handy

These were a little on the slippy side but it did make it easier getting in and out

And another small job done today, changed the clutch fluid, horrible, 18 year old black stuff replaced with nice new Pagid DOT4, (cap says DOT3 but I'm sure it will be fine). May help with the stiffening clutch pedal when sat in traffic.
Next weekends job is power steering fluid as guess that is 18 years old as well and makes some interesting noises on full lock. Then it's gearbox and diff oil time along with a service, someone remind me why I kept it?

I had the same issue on Friday night travelling on the M25 from Guilford , loads of traffic, clutch stiffened up to the point I thought my left foot wasn't engaging with my brain.

It's not too bad a job Steve, 12mm socket for the 2 intercooler bolts, a screwdriver for the hose clips, a 10mm spanner for the bleed nipple, a bit of hose and whatever receptacle you use to catch the old brake fluid balances nicely in the undertray. Hardest bit is getting the intercooler to throttle body hose back on again but as yours has the silicone STI one it's probably a lot easier.

Oh, and you'll need someone's left leg to pump the clutch pedal.

Thanks for the advice Shane, with my luck with car mechanics I think I'll leave it for the experts.

I'm also beginning to think that the clutch is begining to slip

The way I have the servicing phased ,the blob is 6 month's before the wagon but with no trip this year and no miles on the blob since Germany last year I might be forced to rethink .

Well for anyone that thinks their Power Steering pump is on its way out can I suggest the first thing you do is a fluid change, just spent half an hour and £5 on a litre of Dexron III and now no more whiny power steering pump. What came out was black, what went in was red!!! Have a spare litre if anyone needs any.

Yep, big syringe and a bit of hose, top up, steering lock to lock a few times, siphon out, top up, repeat until the fluid that was coming out was much the same as what was going in.

Finally fitted my fire extinguisher today, only one splinter in my finger, maybe a bit of ally would have been easier but had this lying around so seemed rude not to use it

Just need to trim a bit more off the end with the Dremel to clear the raised bit on the seat mounting but was running out of time and had to get the seats back in.

It's a TSL Group N Steve, bit louder than the Prodrive but not quite as unsociable as the Cobra, it's the slightly later version of what Scott has. Will whack it on tomorrow.

There's not much difference in size between the TSL and the Prodrive.

There is a difference in hardness between my head and the diff housing though

My boy asked what would happen if I started it with no back box on, obviously I needed to demonstrate Not sure the neighbours appreciated it as much as he did.

It didn't actually hurt, I didn't realise it was bleeding till Tom asked me why there was blood on the floor, looked a lot worse than it actually was as it had run from one side of my head to the other and down the side of my face.

Think the ride is about to get a little less comfortable.

Complete set of Original STI 5 suspension delivered for less than one replacement KYB. Quick coat of paint to freshen them up and should lose some of that space between the wheel and arch.

How much fluid did you get through to do the job? My PS pump just started making horrible noises after loosening off the banjo next to the turbo inlet pipe which we've swapped. Doesn't want to bleed the air out just by going lock to lock but I can't remember the PS fluid being changed...

I'm guessing its Dexron III ATF fluid that's needed, like this?

If I was local I'd drop it all round but it would cost more to get it to you than you could order it for. Try not to remove too much at a time, it does cause the pump to make nasty noises.
