Full payment will be required sometime between 1st May and our Departure Date.
I will probably set the cut-off for something like 12th May in order to give me time to get it wired out to Eddy.

Whilst there you only then need to pay for Beer (if not using Lidl's) and evening meals.
I expect this year we will only be eating 'on-site' once as we have Pisten Clause booked for 1 night and there's a few other eating houses in the area.

Cheers Scott I would need to pay mine before the 30th April as fly out to Cuba for a 2 weeks holiday and not back until the 16th of May .

I've always used iceplc.com (International Currency Exchange) as I found they offer the best rates. Money is posted to you via insured delivery.

Just don't leave it to the last minute as if it does go missing, you need to wait two weeks before they re-send it (to allow for courier screw-ups). Never had a problem though.

If you're ever seen in London there's loads of places that have much better rates than on the High Street or in banks. I managed to get 1.35 today, which is the highest I've ever seen
It's difficult to know if it's going to get any better though!

Now at 1.3604 euros to the £ on iceplc.com, that's a fair change in only a few weeks. Getting cheaper and cheaper for us!

I ordered these only 3 days ago..

With a certain amount of uncertainty with regards to lap costs I decided to get things sorted.

2 x 4 lap tickets arrived today 205 euros (including postage) for 8 laps...

I was thinking of doing the same Ian, I'm not sure what the new charging system is going to be in the future but I know the prices were frozen at last years rate until April...

I read that they don't have an expiry now, that definitely the case? If so, i'll probably get a 9 lap ticket which works out at 215 euro delivered. Whatever I don't use in May can carry over to next year I assume.

Steve, I was told the ones bought before 30th April will be cheaper but still only last for 2015. Those bought under the new pricing system from 1st May may or may not last longer but it has not been announced officially yet. None of it is particularly clear but unless you are told specifically then assume they only last for this year.

That's interesting..... I was going on the statement from the Nurburgring website:

Quote:
Season tickets and lap tickets which are bought until 30-04-2015 remain valid from 01-05-2015 and can be used for driving on the Nordschleife and on the Grand Prix circuit. Only the season ticket will loose its validity on 31-12-2015.
Seems pretty clear to me, unless its a bad translation?

Scotty the reason for me buying the laps now is because they may or may not go up in price?
It has been said that a new pricing structure may be introduced which in all probability will mean that it is cheaper to drive the ring midweek and more expensive during the weekend.

I was toying with getting the 9 lap ticket but I think for me and the scoob 8 laps last year was enough, how many did you do last year Steve ?

Although it works out cheaper to get the 9 laps you still have to consider the extra fuel and the scoob.

That does look clear - I was told differently when I spoke to them ordering some tickets. Doesn't seem very organised!

Agreed... I get the feeling that the new owners decided they didn't want the tickets to expire as they probably hoped for a bit of a cash injection into the business once they announced the new pricing structure - with folks like us buying in advance to take advantage of the old prices?

Cheeky

I only did 6 last year, but I was only thinking about getting a 9 lap ticket as its cheaper per lap, then using the remainder the year after. But it would be nice to know for sure if the cards are valid beyond 31/12/15. If not, I'll probably only buy a 4 lap and then buy a single or two if I do more once i'm there.

Could do mate, would be easier having them on two cards though rather have to keep swapping the card around in the car park.

Shop around, £600 is currently getting you 825 euros on iceplc.com

(although they charge £4.75 shipping on orders less than £700, still works out as a free tenner!)

I've never actually bothered about travel insurance?? Luggage can't get lost and health stuff is covered by EHIC card so not normally worried about it. I guess the most likely use is loss/theft of personal possessions? (camera/wallet etc?)

Steve - the key part is the repatriation in case you're too ill or injured to get home.

As Greg said, if you haven't got travel insurance and you trip down the front steps at the hotel and break a leg you can't get home, EHIC will only cover some things, it won't pay for months in hospital and subsequent repatriation and that can run into tens of thousands, I would think twice about a day trip without it. I've got annual multi trip for the family through work now, only costs £5 a month for Europe.

Cheers chaps, will look into it. Might even get it through my credit cards but will check.

Always had repatriation of the scoob covered, obviously only worry about the important things!

The following list details the Final Attendee's and room arrangements for this years trip.

After confirming final numbers the 'Outstanding Balance' was received from the Hotel and the below identifies, for everyone, their personal outstanding balance.

As mentioned previously we would like to pay this in advance, therefore upon arrival/departure all you have to worry about is paying for food and meals.
I expect you will only be eating in the Hotel, of an evening, on 1 or 2 nights (max), so just settle your food/drink bills as you would any other restaurant on the night.

'Lidl' is just 100 yards away and does Beer for under 1 Euro (a bottle) or 5-6 Euro for a 5 litre keg. So many of you are unlikely to be racking up a bar bill in the Hotel.

The total bill has been split evenly amongst all attendee's.

If you can send payment to payments@southeastscoobies.co.uk via www.paypal.com ensuring the payment method selected does not incur costs to SES (if this is the case the payment will be rejected/returned).

ATTENDEE's 22nd - 26th (4 Nights):

Twin Rooms :
BIG"E" + Alfa Male : Deposit paid, £200 Outstanding Balance To Pay
NL03Scooby + 1 : Deposit Paid, £200 Outstanding Balance To Pay

Single Rooms :
Granby : Deposit Paid, £100 Outstanding Balance To Pay

Double Rooms :
Wagon_Si + 1 : Deposit Paid, £200 Outstanding Balance To Pay
Scotty + 1 : Deposit Paid, £200 Outstanding Balance To Pay
Steve & Claire : Deposit Paid, £200 Outstanding Balance To Pay

ATTENDEE's 24th - 26th (2 Nights):

Twin Rooms :
Drakesnow + 1 : £125 Outstanding Balance To Pay

Please let me know when you have made payment and I will update the above list with confirmation.
