We spent less last year than previous years as we used to burn a lot more fuel bombing up and down the road to Jackie's (previous hotel) all the time. Claire and I did last years trip for about £900 i think, plus a few extras like euro breakdown which i paid for beforehand.

Just seen the dates of this clash with the Bromley Pageant this year (5th) - that's a shame but Ring Trip should be awesome!

Oh bugger, Bromley was a good meet last year.

Still, Ring trip wins hands down. There's plenty of other stuff we can attend over the summer

Not sure what I'm doing yet.
A big part of me is saying "been there, done that, brought the T-shirt, hat, sticker, lanyard, fleece throw, mug and flags"

So! your too fat for the t-shirt, the hat doesn't suit you, stickers faded, you need another lanyard for your other card / keys, fleece thrown out, mug smashed or full of brake fluid and your flag poles empty after all the weather lately..........

see you in June then

There is no room at the HOTEL!!!

Sorry guys we have have just had an email back from the hotel and unfortunately he is all ready booked for the weekend we want to go!

I have just got of the phone to Eddy (in Germany) and he has limited accommodation for the weekend of 1/7/16 to 4/7/16.

I could try to contact the previous hotel we have stayed at.

Your thoughts please..

What about keeping it in May..

20th Friday.... Travel day - open 5:30 - 7:30
21st Saturday. Open 8:00 - 7:00
22nd Sunday open 8:00 - 7:00
23rd Monday closed but we can do usual castle/ cochem boat trip and run out
24th travel home

It is the week before the 24hr though, so may be busy?

Just an idea

Quite happy to stay at Jackies, or change the dates, already bookes original dates off work.

Or how about doing May 4th Wednesday - May 8th Sunday

It's open evening May4th then all days 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th ?? Could either travel back on the Sunday 8th or stay over and travel back on the Monday 9th?

Happy to stay a jackies if it makes the dates work for June and everyone wants too but as most have said Eddies was much better location and cheaper for most, then would maybe like to experience it as I've not stayed there yet....

No Tim I am looking at the 1st weekend in July (or was) but having just heard back from Eddy I think to stay at his hotel its going to be a non starter,
He can accommodate some of us now but not everyone as a group.

Ron, I have thought this also, the trouble is as you say its before the 24hr and trying to accommodate people as a group in one place is a nightmare.
People seem to have taken a chance on booking rooms without the dates being published, obviously as a group it is difficult to get deposits paid by people for something that is not yet official .

Happy to stay a jackies if it makes the dates work for June and everyone wants too but as most have said Eddies was much better location and cheaper for most, then would maybe like to experience it as I've not stayed there yet....
The above dates are known as "Green Hell" weekend,
The name is very apt its also a German bank holiday and from past experience the Ring is closed more than its open due to the amount of accidents. This is the busiest weekend of the year for the ring.

After some faffing at work I too have managed to get the current selected dates off work. It would be great if we could stick with the currently publicised dates but if no accommodation then needs must. I am confident Ian will do his upmost to get the best for as many of us as he can.

Will watch this space in anticipation

At the moment it is actually difficult to book things, one of the reasons for this is:

Out of 17 possibles only 6 people have confirmed they still wish to go,
so when booking rooms if the dates are acceptable how many rooms do we book, I need a crystal ball, and then we need deposits ?

I think the way forward from this point, is:
I will try to find a hotel that can accommodate us, once I have found a suitable hotel I will post up the information and peeps can book themselves in, individually.

I am still waiting to hear back from Jackie..

Thanks for your efforts mate.

Guys, this is the main problem here. Ian needs to know how many rooms - we can't hunt around for somewhere with 17 rooms if we end up with only 7 or 8! Can people update the list ASAP please

Totally agree with the above. Eddy can accommodate the current confirmee's but cannot accommodate the full list comfortably, of which a large proportion have not confirmed.

Currently July 1st - 5th can accommodate :

You can get 3 double room, 1 single room, 3 triple room and 1 apartment from arrive
01.07. - leave 05.07.2016.
The price is EUR 79,00 per single, EUR 99,00 per double, EUR 135,00 per triple room/night
incl. breakfast.
And EUR 180,00 per apartment/night.

This fit's 9-10 people in their own rooms, with the remainder going into the apartment.
The apartment would be fine for group of lad's. I have stayed in it before (with Tim, Sim, Greg, Dave & Shane) and it was fine, with views of the track from the roof balcony, but it's probably not that suitable for couples or mix'n'match groups.
