Prodrive left the catted uppipe in place, but i replaced it (well, Jaffa did!) a few years ago with a decat as the original one was blowing.

Huge thanks to Ron, spent today over at his place tidying up a few bits on the scoob, he certainly knows his stuff when it comes to detailing.
Got the new paintwork on the spoiler/bootlid mopped so that the finish matches the rest of the car better (rest was of the car was machined in April i think). Nice coat of wax on the whole car too and she's looking very shiny Took some quick pics on the phone when i got home: Also gained another sticker, Ron found a few leftover from a couple of years back when we had a load made up! Nice and subtle and sits perfectly under the number plate. |

Not sure what it'll make, its still a TD04 so i know its limited at about 285 max. Anywhere 270-280 will be a nice little improvement

That car is an absolute credit to you mate. You can tell its looked after as it almost looks a shade darker than everything else. Some people used to say mine looked like a different shade of black, but its all down to a nice glossy finish and keeping the paint tip top. Be good to see what you end up with figure wise but more importantly how well it drives after. Bet it will be like chalk and cheese. God help anyone at the ring next year, you will be setting new lap records!!

Bit of an update.... ordered some bits from Alyn - walbro 255 and a cam belt kit with all the idlers/tensioner - the car is ten years old now so due its second belt change on age (even though its not by mileage yet). Also stocked up on a few bits like oil, filters (black ones available from RCM) and PFR7B plugs for service which is due soon.
Decided to have a go at the fuel pump swap today, surprisingly straightforward job (thanks to JGM for the brief instructions on his website). Cover off, used a brush to clean the loose dirt away as didn't want any falling in the tank. New walbro hooked up, using the old sock as everyone says they're better than the new ones. Not bad for a couple of hours work (including taking rear seats etc out) - and saved a few quid on having SMD do it for me Just need to get it booked in with them for the service/cam belt change plus downpipe fitting now! |

Yep, as Tim said, drop ThePieman a PM and he might be able to sort something out. Normally a proper machine correction is pretty expensive though due to the time and effort it takes.

Nice work Steve, saved yourself a few quid in labour! Is it a straight swap with no alterations needed?

Yes mate, surprisingly easy. The pump came with a new hiring harness with loose ends to join into the car's existing wiring, but the Subaru plug off the old pump fits straight onto the walbro so didn't need it.
Pretty easy job, although i needed a second pair of hands to help hold the frame assembly whilst i used both hands to slide the rubber fuel hose into place onto the pipework. |

Little update - still haven't got round to getting the decat downpipe fitted, or getting it serviced. Cam belt kit is still in the box too. But then the car only does a couple of thousand miles a year so not the end of the world, just need to make sure its done before Germany.
Spent today giving the scoob a proper clean, I used it for commuting for a week when we had snow so it was pretty filthy. Scott popped over with another set of wheels so they'll be making an appearance as soon as I get the tyres swapped. Quick phone pic taken this evening after removing and respraying both Zunsport grilles, they were pretty badly stonechipped beforehand. |

Looks lush Steve, the grills did need a touch up from when I saw them at PP. looks much sharper now with some fresh black.

New wheels on today, after getting the tyres swapped over. They're 18" Ultralite Atec's.
They're not as shiny/blingy as my last set, but they're a lot easier to clean! Excuse the camera phone pics... [IMG][/IMG] |

What width/offset are they and what width tyres are you running? I need a set set of tyres plus am thinking of spacers on the rear.

Think the Ultralites are 18x7.5, ET48 (Scott might be able to confirm) so they're slightly further under the arches than my last set which were ET42. |

They do look smaller, but i think thats because they have a quite a deep lip on them which is almost the same colour as the tyre. I like the 7-spoke style though and its a change having had the others on there for 3 or 4 years Quote:

Another little update.....
Car was down at SMD last week for an oil service and spark plug change, fit the cam belt kit i'd bought from Alyn last year (+ water pump) and fit the decat downpipe. Car was given a good checkover and everything as it should be Also managed to swap the rear door glass as it was scratched as some of you know by a certain dent repair company several years ago. Removed the glass myself and swapped it with MSR2012's glass from his JDM bug that he's recent broken. Its already tinted so that saves me a job. Also had the set of STI doorcards off him, as the set that came with my STI7 seats were marked and i never fitted them as wasn't happy with them. These ones are pretty good though Also removed the rear speakers as they don't do much and its a little weight saving lol Bit drafty for this time of year.... New glass in And new door cards |

The car has had the PPP since pretty much new but as its a bugeye the ECU had an additional circuit board added inside to raise the boost. After speaking to Scott, i know now this needs to be removed for a remap so that the ECU handles the boost control again.
So ECU out of car and PPP board removed. The PPP board looks like this: All now back in the car and relieved that my soldering (in)ability didn't fook anything up, car still works |

It only connected power and the map sensor. It has a lot more pins on the edge connector that are not used in PPP guise. |
