Thanks Baz

I know exactly what you are saying about getting there early and the benefits. But 5am is a bit early for the wife If I can get the missus and Martyn a bit earlier then happy days, but I doubt it very much. Then again, if I feel like I did LAST Saturday morning after a curry and a "few" beers with a certain "Crowman", it will be me holding up proceedings

Oh well. At least if I get sat in stationary traffic, I can watch the TV!

The Vulcan Village will not, I believe, be with the plane itself. The Village is the publicity tent area where you can buy stuff/sign up/etc. so it should be sited where there is max public exposure I would guess.

Enjoy the day you lucky Chaps/Chapesses !!!!

Unfortunately all you will see is a trailer to buy merchandise which will be with the red arrows merchandise along with all other traders and the static aircraft only, the Vulcan will not be allowed near the static aircraft as all planes due to fly are kept seperate for safety reasons at the other side of the runway near to the hangers for refuelling etc, the only way to see them is by shuttle bus. This has always happened for as long as I can remember when the likes of the B17 flying fortress, A10 Warthog, the 2 migs that crashed and Concorde where there Unless they decide to park it at the end of the runway to the left of the picture below, but even then it will be seperate from the merchandise trailer

Is it absolutely essential that you sample curry and alcohol on the Saturday night?

In bed by 10pm after a nice hot cocoa is how the Squadron pilots do it.

Now, Tactical Mayhem Team is another story of course. They obviously don't eat quiche.

We will see you guys there, we will get there for 7am, to get a good parking space for disembarkation, and then queue up to get searched once the gates open at 7.30am, show tickets and then bag search, for everyone that is, which can take about an hour depending on queues, then make our way to our usual spot, at the midway point along side the runway so to get a good vantage point. then chill out with brekkie waiting for the 8 hour of flying to begin

Then the fun begins, 80,000 people leaving at once

Was really good, great display.

we did have traffic jams, but did not matter in the end as we strolled straight in just as red arrows started there display at about 12.30.
The good thing is that everything to see is in the air,so even in the traffic we had a few things to watch.

BAz, the only thing you didnt have was the kitchen sink

Oh and the Vulcan, what can you say, Stunning, awesome, amazing!!!!!!

That is the "Vulcan effect" as they are calling it. Certainly seems to be boosting the crowds where it is scheduled to appear. Looking forward to piccies!!!
