About the same price wise as The Woodman, similar size car park to The Woodman as well, but a slightly more central location, so perhaps better for those coming from East Surrey.
Good call, I'd be up for this as it's just down the road

Its only a couple of minutes from my work, so I've been there a few times in the evening and we had a staff piss up there last week. The food has been really good every time and the bird who runs the place is really easy going as well.

thanks Steve, recommendations like this are always useful

we have something in mind for February's meet already, but this is a good backup location if we change our minds!

Cool, liking the look of that one.
Could maybe use for May meet but this would clash or be very close to clashing with Dad's Day out at Dunsfold.

Looks good to me,

Closer than "The Fairmile" from my area.

The Fairmile has plenty of parking, but the pub its self ???.

Whiteways will be full of power-rangers though, especially on a Sunday!

You've got a few to choose from down that way, e.g. Oyster catcher (Littlehampton/Clymping), Old Stables (Fontwell) , The Crossbush (Crossbush/Arundel) or if you're feeling more adventurous could go to The fox goes free (East Stoke/North of Chi), The fox/worlds end/spotted cow (Angmering) or Even the Pub at the Goodwood hotel (Goodwood).

Default Venue suggestion

What about Salamons in Tunbridge Wells. They do a carvery on a Sunday only (which has to be booked in advance) or it can be booked for exclusive use if needed/wanted. Some of you local to Tonbridge/Tunbridge Wells may already know the place or been before but it may be nice for a photoshoot as well if you ask them nicely and the weather is good/nice on the day. Just a suggestion.

Another nice pub is the Poacher in Shipbourne nr Sevenoaks/Tonbridge. It does nice pub food at resonable prices and has some parking on site or close by. ie walking distance.

Hi I would suggest The Newham Court Inn in Maidstone her is a link for the pub http://www.fayre-square.com/pub/newn...idstone/p1409/ large pub very good prices on food and drinks also a very large car park. I hope this can become a meeting place for SES in the future that is if you feel it would be a good venue Steve?

Cheers for the suggestions. As most of our members are outside of the M25, we wouldn't have a meet up the Purley Way as its a traffic nightmare at weekends. Midday Sun was used by Surrey Scoobies for a while before they went back to the Fairmile.

Another suggestion for the thread:

http://www.botleyhill-farmhouse.co.uk/

Went there today on a recommendation and was thoroughly impressed. Really nice pub, excellent food, reasonable prices and, most importantly massive car park (or rather car parks).

The Fountain (Ashhurst)
I've been here a couple of times, Wanda introduced me to it. They often holds steam rally's in the large tarmac car park. Great food, a really old English pub complete with beams to hit your head on

(Burgers are HUGE!)

Cheers Dave, worth considering for a West Sussex Venue.

Drove past here today : http://bridgeinnamberley.com/ looked very nice next to the River Arun (website does it no justice).

Also went to West Wittering Beach, which would be great for a SES BBQ : http://www.westwitteringbeach.co.uk/history.html, parking, shop, good burgers in the Café £8 to park but a bargain if you want to kill a few hours there doing a BBQ, sitting on the beach or just walking around the Chichester estuary

.

Bridge inn at Amberly a nightmare for parking usually and can get very busy. Nice place though, also I think it is The Dragon or something further up the hill, got a bigger car park.

Looks like that is definitely worth a try for a meet during the summer, do like a huge burger and big car park at the rear.
