Hello Bro. Looks much better with the covers. We can probably make some fog light brackets if you cant find any or they are expensive. Is that a mini grille on the wall at the back?

My latest modification, 1 weeks worth (600 miles) of winter dirt, hoping it will help to hold the rear arches together for a little bit longer Glad to have the Civic back, cost me over £100 in petrol last week.

Well I washed it, dried it, spent an unhealthy amount of time polishing an exhaust pipe and the made the mistake of having a quick run up the road to dry the brakes out before putting it back in the garage. The heavens opened and now it's dirty and wet again.

Spot the difference
Well I finally bit the bullet and went for it, only taken me 2 years to get it sorted.
Before After, and this is a long time after, they'd deteriorated a lot since those photos were taken It had also started to bubble up round the rear of the sunroof so had that cut out and sorted along with some crispy bits round the rear jacking points on the sills. Think that's enough expenditure for a little while. Shane Last edited by Red Baron; 24-02-2018 at 09:06 PM. |

A few bits of over spray to sort, it was never going to be concourse without spending thousands as the labour costs involved in removing all the little bits of trim and subsequently replacing all the broken clips would have been a considerable amount of labour. Saying that, he went above and beyond by spraying waxoil down all the sills and around the wheel arches on the inside, he noticed the paint was a bit thin up the rear pillars so sprayed those and when he blended in the rear doors he repaired some small dents first so can't complain. As for the repair itself, youd never know where it has been cut out and welded in. Just need to get rid of the smell of paint now, gives me a headache driving it, even my Poorboys air freshener can't beat it.

I can confirm, after I had a look today, that it's a very tidy job on the tin bashing considering how much was cut out.

It's coming together slowly, I have a full set of black silicone hoses I may fit and get rid of those white ones, those pulleys need sorting too. The classic engine bay is a lot more exposed than the newage so takes a bit more work to tidy up.

What paint you using Shane as looks a lot better think you need to do the battery tie down just to finish it off .

Whatever was on the shelf in the garage, will have to see how it copes with the heat from the header tank, as for the battery tie down, see the comment after the last photo, just waiting on ebay.

Out with the old
In with the new Had the ARB and drop links in the garage for over a year so though it was about time I did them, especially as the drop links were mentioned on the MOT this year. Still got the front drop links to fit but it started raining so called it a day. Last edited by Red Baron; 24-02-2018 at 09:12 PM. |

Good stuff Shane. I have pulled my whiteline arb and drop links from my damaged blue car only to discover they won't go on the black one as the black car has the traditional style drop links, not the 'C' shape ones!

I am yet to match them up C.J, it is possible the roll bar will fit, all I remember is when I ordered it Whiteline have two different part numbers for the two arb's dependant on the style of drop link. |

Post a pic of whats on the black one now.... C shape ones should be standard, just in plastic?

'C' shape was standard on my 2003 blue one, the 2004 black one has the ball and socket type on the rear, similar to the fronts. The roll bar could still fit, I haven't tried to match it to what is currently on the car. |

Nice one Shane should make it a bit more pointy!
The ball joint links are win win rob no need to change them for uprated jobbys they are solid (unlike the plastic C shaped ones on earlier cars that need swapping for metal ones ideally)

Car died on me the other day just after leaving the in laws and refused to start although it coughed and spluttered a bit. Couldn't hear pump priming which seemed strange, after slamming the bonnet shut it fired up. New Fuel Pump fitted which then also refused to prime the fuel lines, much tracing of voltages showed no power getting to pump, managed to locate the pump relay and wiring (I'm going to ache tomorrow after contorting myself in the drivers footwell), shorted the pins which would usually switch the pump and everything sprang to life. Found that the switched 12V supply to the relay was good so relay became the main suspect. Connected relay direct to the battery and got it switching, must have been dirty relay contacts, all ok for now but going to replace it anyway.

Well the rear brake lines have all been replaced thanks to JonnyRicer and Whiteline front drop links have just gone on so that's the MOT advisories taken care of along with a service, time for a good clean, polish and wax and then time to get it up for sale
