Default Whiteline arb -any good?

I'd like my wrx to have less bodyroll, as it has a low front splitter I don't want to lower it and coilovers are too expensive.
Has anyone upgraded the anti roll bar to a whiteline or equivilant?
Will just changing the rear give me a big improvement or do I need to do the front as well?
Budget is an issue so if I can do the rear only for £135 and it helps I'd be happy.

In my opinion up rating the rear ARB,

is the best single up grade you can do, it made alot of difference to mine,

I fitted a 24mm whiteline and you certainly notice the difference.

My front is still standard apart from a strut brace.

the rear plastic links on the classics and early new-age are part of the issue but in general yes.........

supply whiteline, SuperPro, Powerflex, etc..........

Thanks, I also have a strut brace on the front so think I'll leave the front then and just do the rear, will go for the arb now just need to decide if it's worth spending another £50 upgrading the drop links as well

Whats the difference between the 20mm, 22mm and 24mm (apart from the obvious size difference!)? As in how do the effect the car differently

You might as well do it all at once. The standard rubber droplinks are poo and i imagine the stiffer bar will just make the rubber links flex more (hence making no difference to the cars handling).

I changed to a Whiteline rear arb (22mm I think) on my Hawk and some alloy drop links too, and it makes a lot of difference to the handling for the money. The car turns in much better than it did before before...

The thicker the bar, the stiffer it will be. Mine is 'adjustable' - three holes on each end, one for soft, one for medium, one for hard. I have it on the medium setting.

If you do buy an arb make sure you have your cars suspension Set up. Most of the benefit will come from that.

20mm = pram

24mm = gokart

On mine with the 24mm I also had the uprated mount for extra strength.

So if I fit a 24mm whiteline rear arb and upgrade to whitleline wire drop links on the rear also I will see a big difference and have little body roll compared to a lot of body roll now?

I'm planning to order the whiteline 24mm and solid droplinks tomorrow, which setting is likely to be best with the front still standard?
One final question before I order is would a 22mm be more suited as I don't plan on changing the front arb and won't be tracking the car? might that be better balanced?

24 might be a bit much but on soft should be fine, I went with the Eibach bars as the finish is better!

I've never heard of any issues with Eibach components, used to run them in my VW days as well as they were the suspension components of choice for all the fast/top Veedubs

Running Eibach for few months without the issue,WhiteLine quality is the issue(they're rusting alot)

its simply a COSMETIC issue.............have cars running Whitline for over 8years and yes they dont look the best but still perform as they should......

also an Eibach dealer if required

Whats the soft, medium and hard setting? Get that the thicker the ARB the stiffer the ride, hows the setting affect it?

The harder the setting the more you reduce the amount of roll.

If you go to hardest/stiffest setting before you get used to the handling you will find the arse end trying to step out, and it will,

This does make the steering feel more responsive

Is a 24mm a bit OTT for a non track car then even on soft? Whats the 'best' to get for a daily. Want it to be stiff so its handles better but not bone shaking as we all know what the roads around the area are like!

Probably best will be on classic have FR 22/RR 24mm,which working really well and many people recommending this

We are running FR 22/RR 24mm and we are very happy with his combo

If you want run only rear ARB would say 24mm at rear will be good enough

I ended up buying a 22m rear with solid drop links, spoke to a couple of whiteline dealers and they both advised that as I'm not planning on doing the front and only using the car on road a 24mm would be too much, the 22mm should be a better balance
