boost problem
hi all ive got a 1994 wrx that ive just bought my problem is when you go to give it a little stick it will boost to 1bar but drop strait down and hold a 0.5 bar would this be a fooked actuator ?
also i have a small missfire low down on cold start when warm its gone could this be plugs or coils many thanks |

check that the boost control solenoid is plumbed in correct and clean it through with brake or carb cleaner along with its attached pipework. I'll post a plumbing image when i can get access to photobucket.

if you could that would be perfect would it matter that its on a boost control ( manuel ) inside the car

yes totally, sounds likely its a "bleed" valve and either leaking pipework or mis-adjusted..........
personally throw it away and sort properly

yep throw boost controller away as ecu has good boost control.
it sounds like it's plumbed wrong or set up with incorrect boost duty control and maybe even an overtitightened actuator thrown in for good measure. the tension on the actuator should be set so when at rest the hole in the rod 1/2 aligned with the wastegate pin. therefore just requiring a slight tug by hand to drop it onto the pin. |
