Rallye Sunseeker - 26th February 2011
Sunseeker is back on Saturday 26th Feb 2011. Always a great days rallying - and this years event is Round 1 on the MAS British Rally Championship.
For those who haven't been before, its a day out in the forestry commission land in the Bournemouth area, some cracking stages. We'll be driving there and back in one day so no overnight costs. Car sharing to be used as entry is per car rather than per person. If anyones got a 4x4 (scoobs don't count ) then recommend using it as the car parks are fairly rough fields. And as we discovered last year thanks to CJ, you can park them in places you can't park a car First stage starts at 9am, so we'd need to be in the Bournemouth area by 8:30am at the latest. Who's interested? 1. Steve_PPP 2. 3. 4. 5. |

May get down to it.
I know the stage you mean re: car park entry, it's the one north East of Somerly. Best avoided in a lowered Scoob. |

Less then a week to go to this now. Definately worth a look if you are about, as its the last year that 4wd cars will be running in the British Rally Championship!

Just a heads-up for the regulars on this one.... Ringwood North is a non-spectator stage this year
Apparently the field used for car parking for the last couple of years has been ploughed by the farmer and is not suitable - and they can't find alternative parking. So it looks like Uddens in the morning, Wareham at lunch time and then Ringwood South in the afternoon.... |

Great day out. Good selection of cars and the weather (mostly) held out for the day. Guilty confession though: fave car of the day was an Evo...
Thanks to Darth Maull for use of his front drive, Bandit for providing rally taxi services and Steve PPP for filling in the blanks with my directions! Cheers guys! Pictures to follow!

Yeah It was a good day out mate, though if you were suffering from man-flu it wasn't the best conditions to be outside!
Didn't think it was as well organised as last year (the running order for the cars was rather odd) and there wasn't as much ex-WRC stuff being used, but it was still well worth the drive. (Just for the sound of Bogie's Evo IX. )
