Volvo 850 T5 estate at 19 with a bit of work running pretty reasonable power, a tv and some naughty police lights!

Like it & very rare. One of my top fav's was a E30 M3 handling was fantastic but down on power at 190bhp so would of loved a 350bhp M5 engine in there.

probs my pukka Nova 1.3SPORT.............homologation special limited to around 500 cars which was then tuned to around 120bhp and fitted with c/r gearbox (eventually became a rally car & caged, etc.)

would easily keep up with 16v golfs, etc. and seriously pi%% off most Scooby owners down the local lanes

never had any lag in mine, it lived near and over the redline and somehow never went bang. also a few little tweaks certainly helped even though it did smoke a bit more.

I used to have a Nova Sport, not many of those around.

After the Impreza's this would be my favourite....

Astra Mk3 GSI with Calibra Turbo engine and 6 speed gearbox, tuned to just over 300bhp.

(front tyres would last 2 months if lucky, driveshafts even less!!!)

Stupidly quick though!!!

I think Chunk had to replace his pants a few times after he drove it!!!

Always interesting these type of threads. As it always seems to throw up some lesser powered nimble smaller cars. And this comes from people who have chased power and now running some big spec powered cars.

I have had a few motors but short list has to be 306gti6, RS1600I, 2.5 Classic Scoob, E46 M3, modded audi S4, Evo5, and my current favourite and still have it along with the scoob which is a S2000.

Only reason i went for the Clio after the 420bhp Cossie was because the Cossie was stolen and the Clio was the only decent car i could insure Rob

Forgot about the TT, Apart from the girls image - Great car, mine was remapped to 270bhp and liked it allot. Instant spool, build quality and interior and exterior ahead of its time. Bullet proof but not a car I would want to push to the limits and feel comfortable with.

Loved My Cosworth Saphs as well, and will always have a place in my heart, and still have utmost respect for the Ford boys that have stuck with it. But I think in reality they were just great cars at the time - I think If I had another one now I would think its horrid, unreliable, expensive, handled like poo, rattly and rusty bag of nails...

Another car I loved was the Mk1 MR2 - the Wedge shape rust bucket one It was an Elise of its day. Handling was sublime, and ubber cheap to insure on classic insurance.

And of course SCOOBS of any era, shape!

Yes i do love my saphs aswell and like you say if it wasnt for the constant maintainence and upkeep of them i think i would of got one

Yes the TT was a fab little car, think mine was only running the standard 220bhp and although i regret selling it i did get bored of it easily!

Has a BMW 330 convertible on 19" Haamans that i loved also, was an auto though and not very quick but nice to cruise about in till someone wrote it off for me! Hand on heart though my Scoob is the best car ive ever owned, its coped with everything ive chucked at it and never fails to scare me flat out!! Lol! Was the best thing i ever bought/built etc!

Only 2 of my previous were special to me.
1964 1098cc MG Midget drove that with the hood of all year round because i lost one of the supports for it.

other one I can't remember the year was a 1430cc road legal full race mini with spaceframe rear end, may have been 1972.

Both sucumbed to motorsport accidents, unlike my RS500 cosworth that I got rid of because of the constant retweaks needed. That was replaced by a sensible family car.

I've had a very short car history thus far, so I haven't really got anything to add to the thread. Interesting to see what people are picking out as faves though!

Mine was a Civic Type R (EP3). It was such a great daily drive and had the perfect amount of power for the chassis. Was mental on track, especially with a bit of lift-off oversteer here and there. I made a couple of small changes to engine breathing, added a Nur-Spec exhaust and some Tein suspension as well as some bracing here and there which all had a positive effect. I then chopped it in for an S2000, which proved to be a bit of a mistake.
