Looks a very clean one mate.
If you can, ditch the dawes device and go for an AVCR for your boost controll,it will compliment your Power FC, The dawes is a very crude manual boost controll, i know as i ran with one for a couple of years in the early days of tune.
Also do a bit of research and go for the best Gear and diff oil you can get.
Oh and love the wheels with the R888's

For the price of a Scott.t chip if if still has any or even dare I say it a dodgy ebay chip for the subaru. It might be a better bet than a dawes device. I think the cheaper chips which are a plug and play item for the early scoobs can be had for around £50-£100 these days.

I think the cheaper chips do nothing much more than a dawes and just raise the boost, but at least with a chip the boost will be consistent and the ECU will retard timing if its needs to to match. Dawes devices can spike and springs can get weak which can give inconsistent boost levels.

Don't get me wrong I'm not one of the...... 'its got to be remapped brigade, Dawes devices are dangerous and will blow ya engine ya da ya da'. But the price of chips are so cheap its got to be worth considering over a dawes.

I've used dawes devices on other cars with great success in the past but at the time it was the only cheap option available. For the early scoobs plug and play chips are cheap and even the live mappable ESL daughterboard are good value compared to Apexi and the like.

p.s loving those wheels and tyres if you ever decide to sell for a more road friendly set. Drop us a line and give us first dibs, they would make for a nice track set of tyres and wheels.

Can i use the power fc to raise the boost?
surly thats got to be better than those esl chips??
Then that way it will also be mapped to that setting
I love the rims to lol
but bit wide as runing 215/40/17

Over to scott or Simon on this one.
I do know that the AVCR is one of the best stand alone electronic boost controllers on the market.
When mapping using a dawes device you got to fanny about with spanners to wind in or out. Very crude, but as i say it was fine on my scoob which had a power engineering chip fitted.

apexi can raise the boost but only as far as about 1.1bar due to it using the standard subaru map sensor. To go higher you need to buy either the apexi boost control kit or turn boost control off on the ecu and bypass it with something like an avcr. A dawes can be used to do this but a bit crude. Map to 1.45 mid range dropping to approx 1.25 depending on injector flow. A dawes will not allow yout to tail off the boost.

Thanks Martyn, nice to meet you aswell and you have a awsome looking scoob,

new plan going to run a sti7 top mount as i do plan to use this car for bit of track and maybe some hill climbs so wount to keep lag to a minmal.
and also the stanard look to.

I will be using the dawes device till i source a profic b or hks evc 5-6
due to not likeing the avcr very much (bad expreince in the past)

Thanks for the comments
