The ScoobySprint Series thread
Regs and dates still to be confirmed, here are all details known at present
Quote:
First event is looking like Bank Holiday Monday 31st May.
It will either be 4 events, or 5 (depending on discussions that are happening over the weekend).
The last event will be either Late August, or Early September.
Sneak peak at some of the provisional venues are :
Stonely Country Park (Country park in Warwickshire, which has a great network of tarmac roads, which will be a lot of fun in a great setting, and almost nothing to hit)
Oulton Park (The Rally Stage, not the main circuit. Tight and twisty, which is tarmac, but low grip tarmac, to add an extra challenge)
Teesside Autodrome (Fantastic circuit which we can run in an unusual configuration making it really good fun)
Rockingham Raceway (Not the main circuit. To be advised.)
Donington Park (The spiritual home of the UK Subaru Impreza scene. Again, not using the circuit, but other parts of the venue to make it more interesting and rally-like, but still safe and fun.)
-
There is a chance one of the above will be changed for another venue we're still talking to.
Competition
Like last year, with timed runs, and your best run counts. Championship points, and multiple classes - all to be announced, but not dissimilar to last year - although better clarification on some points like rollcages, etc.
Costs
The costs will have to increase this year, due to the quality of venues, and the fact that we will be focussing on the competition rather than the spectator numbers. Plus we'll be running dedicated events where possible, rather than combining the events with another event, which I feel created problems last year.
- Single event entry - approx £120
- Championship points registration
- Privateers : approx £195
- Constructors : approx £495
Championship entry gives you first dibs on entries for each event, a discount on entry fees, championship sticker sets, some online features, and of course, you then score championship points.
For constructor teams, there are a number of valuable promotional benefits, such as being able to enter under the company name, building a team of up to 5 cars to score constructors' championship points, and being promoted on the front page of scoobysprint.com and in press releases, etc.
