Chunks Mercedes C230 Kompressor
This is Lee's C230 Kompressor, him and emma went away to germany for a few days so he left the car with me and i was let loose on it. I was planning on doing it over 2 days to get it perfect but over the friday and saturday i was ill plus the weather wasnt too good either. So on finally on the sunday i started work.
Heres what i used: Chemicial guys maxisuds II Meguairs clay kit Sonus dur wonder drying towel 3m masking tape Billberry wheel cleaner Meguairs G220 Sonus yellow pad Chemicial Guys all in one Ultimate german applicator Petes 53 wax Meguairs fast glass Autoglym metal polish Meguairs hotwheels tyre dressing Meguairs applicatiors Eurow shagpile towels Meguairs last touch detailer Heres some before pictures, the merc is a lovely colour but its difficult to show the full effects on a silver car Befores First the wheels were cleaned with billberry wheel cleaner, i sprayed it onto the wheels whilst they were dry because i find it works better that way, after 5 mins i cleaned them with a wheel brush and rinsed them off Then i rinsed the car and washed it with chemicial guys maxisudsII ready for clay. I didnt use any snowfoam this time as the weather was closing in and there wasnt really any heavy deposits that needed softening, i left the car wet and started claying it using meguairs clay kit and meguairs last touch detailer as lube. This was the state of the clay after the bootlid. Not sure what had managed to bond its self to the paint it was like small pieces of iron fillings or something but the clay managed to get most of it out, the worst pannels were the boot roof and bonnet, the rest of the car was pretty smooth. After claying it was rewashed and dried with sonus dur wonder drying towel. Once fully dry it was then taped up ready for polishing. I was going to use my silverline rotary but ive only used it once before and because of the time i decided on the g220. So pannel by pannel i removed most of the swirls and they came up pretty well imo. I did try to get some 50/50 shots but they didn't come out to well but you can still see the difference in the pannel shots. Before After Before After Before After Before After Then the weather decided to turn for the worst and it started spitting so i didnt really get any working pics just some quick afters. The wheels were dressed with meguairs hot wheels tyre dressing Before After Then the glass was cleaned Meguairs fast glass and the metal parts were polished with autoglym metal polish. All finished just in time before the rain came down any heavier. The took it over to the industrial estate to get some pics. I think it turned out really well considering the time and the weather, i would of liked to have spent more time on it but hopefully next time ill get the chance.
