Mercedes 190E Detail aka "The Captain"
My mate wanted his Mecedes 190E aka "The Captain" done for a wedding he was going too.
The weather wasnt too good so out came the marquee and in went the merc, heres some before pics Then it was snowfoamed with a mix of snowfoam and chemicial guys maxi suds II The snowfoam managed to shift quite abit of dirt and soften some more heavy deposits, it was then rinsed and washed using megs next gen shampoo and meguairs washmitt, it was then rinsed again and the whole car was clayed using megs quick clay kit, this was the state of the clay after just the front wing After claying it was then washed and rinsed again and the paint was left perfectly smooth ready for buffing, after claying the true state of the paint underneath was quite shocking, at one point i thought omg and thought i wouldnt be able to put it right but i thought well it couldnt really get any worse, heres a few pics before drying, you cant really see the condition of the paint in the pics but its quite bad in some of the 50/50 pics later Next i cleaned the wheels using billberry wheel cleaner, sprayed on left for 5 mins, sprayed again and cleaned with a wheel brush then rinsed off, i managed to get rid of most of the grime but some bits were corroded right through just a random pic of the car so far, you can just see the state of the paint on the bonnet Heres some 50/50's The boot had allready been corrected at some point not very well though as there was quite alot of buffer trails etc, i managed to get most of them out with the G220 but i wasnt brave enough to use my new machine yet so it will have to be redone again at some point The boot before 50/50 After Drivers rear quarter 50/50 Drivers rear door Drivers front door Drivers front wing 50/50 Now my favourite bit the bonnet, this shows the true state of the paint before and after, this was the bit that made me **** myself thinking ive ****ed it up Bonnet before Bonnet 50/50 Bonnet after Next the car was waxed with 2 coats of petes 53 wax Next the windows were cleaned using meguairs fast glass and microfiber cloth Next all the plastic trim bits were treated with poorboys natural look And the metal and chrome bits were polished with Autoglym metal polish Finally the tyres were treated with meguairs endurance high gloss tyre dressing Then the car was given a quick dusting with meguairs last touch detail to get rid of any dust and the final pics were taken I think the captain turned out really well although theres still room to do some more work on it but i think its one of my favourite details to date, once ive got more practice in with my new machine hopefully ill be able to completly finish the merc.
