The car wont make silly power, don't forget I only opted for a medium turbo. I am expecting around 530 - 540 on Meths.
If we had gone for a 35 or 40 or bigger then the power levels would be way over 600 but as a road car the 30/37 current turbo is best suited. EPS will be on the keyboard on the day but it will be tweaked within the safety zone so don.t expect big power fellas. I know, RCM and many more know the engine is good for much more power but as mentioned it's currently governed by the turbo choice. |

"Thats silly power for a road car to most Clive "
"I was sitting here shaking my head think the very same " I understand what you are saying and I didn't mean it to sound like that, but I realise what power could be obtained from the P1 but I need to draw a line somewhere. My head has been in the next RCM project for many weeks now whereby the power figures will be 100's more. That is why I may of used the wrong words. |

Wasnt the wrong words mate, i just ment theres no need to think we wont be impressed with that kind of power for a road car
Im hoping to get just over 500 with my new build ive just started as just like you i want to drive mine on the road and enjoy it

Mate, as Anger says. Everyone is mightily impressed by your scoob.
It's the fact that you underplay it's awesome power and don't give it the big I am that makes it such a cool project. I'd be shouting from rooftops and placing ads in the local papers. You are a top bloke mate, with a top notch car. And I'm as jealous as hell! |

Thanks guys.
Why I came across like that is because my ScoobyNet thread went from a few photos and a brief comment on what I wanted to achieve, to being a friggen Coronation St and with the project entitled "Project P1 600+" all were expecting just that. 109,000 hits, 118 pages, 3500+ replies & about 4.8 million pm's later later it's still running at about 500. There are many Scoobz now running 440 - 470 and I now realise why. Many start modifying and find that they come up to big barriers at around the 470. On my experience when you get to 400 the money diverts away from the motor (for a while and needs to be spent on set up, transmission & stopping. Then back to your engine for more power. When you get a proper 500+ it's VERY quick, much quicker than one imagines in a 1190Klg car. At 400 everyone use to say "wow". Now all I get greeted with is "fukc that" Anyway, I wasn't far off the 600 Last edited by Skullfudge; 18-11-2009 at 01:41 AM. |

Nice one Clive, been to TDI a couple of times for dyno days and they are very professional, just remember the figure you will get will be at the wheels and not engine power
