Default French Rallycross Championship R8 2022 – Dreux

Not that South, or East, or Scooby, but I know there are some rallycross fans here, so I'm posting!

Had a last minute plan come together to get to the final round of the 2022 French Rallycross Championship at Dreux. The French Championship is well attended (by competitors and spectators) and the last round also counted as part of the 2022 British (5 Nations) Rallycross Championship.

Many pictures were taken, so here are a few faves...

The French Championship has a number of different classes (six to be exact), from Juniors in Clios all the way up to the top level of Supercar. There is a general preference towards French marques, but still a lot of variety in the entries.

Saturday wrapped up with some night racing. Always cool to watch rallycross in the dark, as you get more visible flames and brake discs.

The seven British Supercar drivers faced stiff competition as the level of the French Championship is very high. Current British Championship leader Patrick O'Donovan fared the best, eventually finished fifth overall and increasing his lead in the British series.

Defending Champion Samuel Peu took the event win and the 2022 Championship in Supercar. Peu seemed a little restrained in qualifying, but had immense pace in the final and was a very deserving winner.

It was an excellent weekend with a lot of great racing on a decent circuit. I am really pleased that we have an established Championship here in the UK, but it was impossible not to be impressed with the scale of the French series.

More pictures here if anyone is interested!

Pretty sure that is the most Northern round of all of them. Had a pretty quick drive there, but a bit slower back as we were trying save fuel with the ongoing petrol strike!

Definitely going to look at going into going back there next year.
