Default World Rallycross Championship R8 2019 - Loheac

I was in France couple of weeks ago for the eighth round of the World Rallycross Championship. I took rather too many pictures, so I shall try not to clog the forum up with too many, but a few of my faves…

Tracking looks a bit out on the front…

Niclas (son of Marcus) Gronholm should have been Champion this year, but he missed two rounds due to illness and the points gap was too great to close down.

Robin Larsson was looking to hold his lead in the European Championship, but when his main rival crashed out he took the class win and the 2019 European title.

The road car does nothing for me, but I think the DS3 looks great as a rallycross Supercar.

Best livery of the weekend had to be the matt green Peugeot 208 of Antoine Masse.

Andreas Bakkerud did best in qualifying and managed to take the Championship lead in the process…

…but he tangled with another driver at the start of the final and the win ended up going to Timmy Hansen. Timmy won again last weekend and now leads the Championship by one point, with one round to go!

Yeah, the French round of the World Championship is held there late August/early September every year.

Weirdly the French Rallycross Championship doesn't go to Loheac: have never understood why not!
