Need recommendations for a Impreza specialist in Surrey or Sussex
Need a few jobs doing and would like to use someone who knows the cars well.
Simple stuff, new lower arm, some bushes and redo the tracking. It's not steering as well as it should so want someone who knows them well and knows what to do first. Thanks |

For a place in Surrey, there's Surrey Subaru Specialists - http://www.surreysubaruspecialists.com/

Definitely worth speaking to Dan/Surrey Subaru Specialists.
He has looked after my FSTI and my wife's WRX wagon for years and I'd never go anywhere else because of the great job he does every time. |

Sure other guys are good, but personally would never use anyone but Brent at SMD in Newhaven. I even travel from France to have him look after my Subaru.

I used Dan at Surrey Subaru Specialists for the bits I needed doing recently. Highly recommended, he seems almost fanatical about details and gave me the longest write up ever on what he’d done and other faults on the car. Felt very comfortable letting him work on my car.
It needs to go back for a few other things he spotted including the downpipe. I’m running an H&S decat centre pipe and an original Scoobysport exhaust on an otherwise standard car. Can people recommend an MOT friendly downpipe, don’t need any extra noise really and did wonder about picking up a secondhand Subaru one cheap? Hayward & Scott has been mentioned, any noise or MOT issues likely from anyone who has one? Other road legal options? |

There’s a lot of choice out there...
Some members run Miltek which are good quality and don’t add much noise. I personally run Cobra but it’s all personal preference. The noise will be decat and backbox dependant rather than downpipe.. Haywood and Scott are good also...

Not personal experience but a few Legacy guys have had issues with quality and fit recently.

I had problems with Hayward and Scott back boxes for my 2016 Sti, basically didn't anywhere near fit. Brent at SMD had to do some serious modifications. Fortunately Brent took pictures and spoke to Scoobyword, the suppliers, and got a refund for the additional labour. Wouldn't buy Hayward and Scott again.

I had wondered if the H&S fit issues mentioned on some forums had been resolved now. Dan will be fitting it and had suggested H&S

SMD in Newhaven is worth the trip for those not local.
