Android app for speed camera alerts.
In the UK for a few days and looking to download a free app that works offline to show speed camera locating, preferably with a mph indicator and wondered what was available.

Although I prefer Google Maps for actually navigating somewhere, Waze has very good speed camera warnings. You may be able to download the area you are visiting like you can in google but not sure..

I use Waze, it's great, traffic updates by people so much more accurate, tells you about speed cameras, even tells you about potholes people have reported on there, could save you a wheel lol

The best feature on Waze are the pothole warnings and vehicle at the side of the road.
I've got no idea how the car at side of road works but it's bloody quick I've had a car pull over about 6 vehicles ahead of me on the A21 and Waze shouted the warning before I got to it !!!! |

A client of mine was testing Waze and Google Maps, pretty much to failure.
They were marking roads as closed/blocked and then driving down them to see how fast the tech kept up. It was virtually instant. They were genuinely flabbergasted. It's impressive, if a little frightening! |

I use Waze all the time, it can be a little data hungry when you first start using it (more so on IOS than on Android devices) but once it's started caching the map side of things it hardly touches your data. Like the fact it only shouts about speed cameras if you're going a little faster than you should be, my TomTom doesn't shut up on the M25.
